Stress is actually a normal part of life. At times, it serves a useful purpose. Stress can motivate you to get that promotion at work, or run the last mile of a marathon. But if you don't get a handle on your stress and it becomes long-term, it can seriously interfere with your job, family life, and health. More than half of Americans say they fight with friends and loved ones because of stress has become imbibed in our daily lives so properly that we take it as a part and parcel of life. Under estimating the harmful effects of stress is wrong. It is wrong to keep succumbing to stress while you totally ignore the importance of your mental health.Having acknowledged stress is one thing and treating it is another. There are various ways in which people can cure the stress in their lives. While some try to cope with it through external assistance, some look out for ways to deal with it themselves. If you belong to the latter category, we are here to introduce you to one of the most amazing technique to cure stress-


Meditation

meditation is an ancient and dated practice that will re-invigorate you in your journey to life, it will make you more productive and would lead you to have a healthy introspection with yourself. In addition to releasing the stress, it also gives a lot of benefits and cure from innumerable health hazards like reduced blood pressure, anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc.Now that your know how meditation can help you deal with your stress. the pre-requisites of starting up basic meditation techniques are as follows:

Find a Quiet PlaceYou need to find a quiet place- a place or corner in your home, local part or wherever you wish to meditate. Though you can't totally curb noise at any place, just try to minimize the distractions.Turn off all gadgets Heading to your Instagram story to update about you meditating is absolutely not the way to begin meditating. Just turn off your phones and other gadgets to relieve yourself from the disturbances caused through relentless pings on the phone.Decide Your Comfortable position For beginners, its necessary to sit in a position they can retain for a long time. While the traditional way of sitting is the cross legged way, but you can try and resort to a position that you can retain for a long time to meditate.Put on some calm music your choice of music is important here.


Opt for soothing music. Just some instruments playing in a soothing manner, or ocean waves, birds chirping, etc. Basically any music that soothes yours senses.Now that you know what are the pre-requisites for ensuring you are all set to meditate, let's learn these three meditating techniques that will come handy to reduce stress:Use the power of Imagination Your brain is a wonderful organ, if you tend to use it that way. It can take you back to those memories that you have truly cherished in your life. So, the best way to meditate is to close your eyes, and imagine yourself in a happy place. You could think of an old loving memory, or just be innovative and imagine yourself at a beach, on a mountain, whatever you want to do. While you still keep on imagining, the focus should be on your breathing. Hear yourself breath.

You must continue to be at the happy place and focus on your breathing. Then, your senses will be active, you will feel your heart beat more prominently and connect with your being. Just scan the areas where you feel the stress in your body. Begin from your toes and go till your way up the scalp. While you are at it, you must imagine deep breaths flowing into your body through your veins destroying all existential stress.

Meditation is an outstanding practice that will help you connect with yourself in a spiritual level. You will value your being and your existence. Do not set an alarm for your meditative practice. Just zone in and zone out at such pace as you feel comfortable with.
