While sitting in my room during this unprecedented time, I looked back on the simple days of my childhood and thought about the toys I had when I was wee little thing. Leapfrog's LeapPad, Bratz Dolls, you name it. There was this one handheld that I vividly remember. I used to play on it for hours until my parents told me to do something more constructive. That was the Gameboy Advance SP.
After the nostalgic moment I had, I immediately went onto eBay and bought the handheld in the color pink, along with the game, Bratz Rock Angelz. I received the game first and I waited in anticipation for that Gameboy. A few days later, my Pink Gameboy Advance SP finally arrived and the nostalgia kicked in. I played the first level with ease but when it came to that dreaded skateboard game, I had to go to my sister to help me out, just like the good ol' days. Outside of that, I love customizing the four main characters After purchasing and playing the game for a short time, I purchased two more Gameboy games.
The Urbz: Sims in the City and Sonic Advance 3 were other games I played as a child. Even though Bratz Rock Anglez was my favorite game, Sonic Advance 3 was the first-ever Gameboy game I've ever played. I would always play as Sonic and Tails (they were the only unlocked characters), collect rings, and try to defeat Dr. Eggman, The Urbz: Sims in the City was actually a game that my older sister owned but I would play in from time to time, by creating my own character, completing tasks, and defeating Daddy Bigbucks.
I'm glad that nostalgic thought came to me. The Gameboy Advance SP was a treasure from my childhood and I'm glad it came back into my life. I'm not that much of a gamer but I enjoy the feeling of playing through the same levels when I was a child. Buying the handheld and the games really brought me back to the much simpler days, in which I didn't have to worry about adult things. I know that I'm a full-fledged adult that has to pay taxes and get a stable job, it won't stop me from going back into my childhood and reliving it. It's good to look back and reminisce about a time that true to you.
