I Always Hated Feeling Like An Outsider, But I've Learned To Accept Myself And Not Feel So Alone

I was always known as the quiet one but also talks too. I was very different than most socially. I was not outgoing, I was not shy, I was in the middle. I was always hard to come around and needed to open up, but I often still feel the sense of quietness in me. I was an early riser which most did not get.

Most people in the teenage, young adult age hate waking up early. I was not that one. I never partied nor did I follow a crowd. That is not out of place, it's who I am.

Girl, just know that if you feel out of place, you are not alone. You are reading from someone who can relate. It's OK to be the quiet one. It's OK to not want to be around a crowd, it's OK to not be interested in partying. It's who you are, what matters is you have a heart and prefer to show your heart to everyone in your own way.

Just know that being a follower is not what you should want. Being yourself is what you want. Don't listen to what others say, focus on loving who you are and finding the ones who can relate, love, and accept you for who you are.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
