Exhaustion happens to everyone, be it from the stress of everyday life due to lack of sleep, dehydration, partying, overexertion, or something else. There are a variety of ways of boosting your energy; read on to find nine (9) ways to boost your energy:
Way #1 to Boost Your Energy: Get an IV
Yes, putting a needle in your arm may seem extreme, but the most effective treatments are intravenous. That’s why you’re given an IV drip when you go to the emergency room. Want to know if you’re at a location where IV Doc services are offered? Check out this webpage. What types of drips might be helpful to boost your energy? There are a few different IVs that they offer that may help:
Cleanse – IV Hydration + Electrolytes (without medications). “Cleanse” focuses on dehydration and replacing electrolytes. This service retails for $199.00
Detox is the same as “Cleanse,” except that it comes with one (1) type of medication*. This service retails for $219.00
Refresh is the same as “Cleanse,” except that it comes with two (2) types of medications. This service retails for $239.00
Rescue is the same as “Cleanse,” except that it comes with three (3) types of medications. This service retails for $269.00
Jet Lag is the same as “Cleanse,” except that it comes with the following medications: Anti-inflammatory medication, Vitamin B12, and the Multi-Vitamin Cocktail.
The options for the medications listed above are as follows:
Anti-nausea
Anti-heartburn (reflux)
Anti-inflammatory (pain/headache)
Way #2 to Boost Your Energy:
Get More and Better Quality sleep
Sleep is probably one of the more effective ways of getting more energy. Realistically, it’s easier said than done but can become a priority with some discipline. How to help ensure better quality sleep?
Limit activities to sleep and sex in your bed. Using your bed for other activities doesn’t create a proper delineation between sleep and wakeful activities.
Turn down the temperature to between 60o – 67o. Being too warm can make your sleep restless.
Always go to bed at the same time, and get up at the same time, regardless of the day. Constantly changing your schedule to go to bed later on the weekends and rise late into the day alters your body’s biorhythms, which can lead to exhaustion.
Avoid “blue light” devices an hour before bed. These include cell phones, computers, and TVs. To help aid in this, consider programming these devices to turn off or go to bedtime mode at a specific time.
Consider shifting your bedtime earlier if you’re always groggy when you wake up.
Way #3 to Boost Your Energy: Take a Cold Shower
Taking a cold shower can help you feel less exhausted when you first wake up. The temperature change can help increase blood flow, invigorate the brain, and enhance energy levels. After the cold water hits you, take your hot shower as usual.
Way #4 to Boost Your Energy: Get Out and Move
It may seem counterintuitive if you’re too tired to focus on much of anything that exercise would do you much good. But the reverse is true. Exercising can help release endorphins that help relax your body when it’s time to sleep and help you stay asleep longer.
Way #5 to boost your energy: Get some sunshine
Sun exposure causes your body to produce Vitamin D, increases the “feel good” chemical called serotonin, and helps keep you calm and focused. Beware of getting too much, however. Ultraviolet rays can give you skin cancer and age you prematurely.
Way #6 to Boost Your Energy: Listen to Upbeat Music
Music releases endorphins, which can give you energy and help provide focus. It can also help distract you from doing something unpleasant – such as exercising, help you get into the “groove,” help improve your memory, and relieve boredom from performing repetitive tasks.
Way #7 to Boost Your Energy: Eat a Proper diet
One of the symptoms of exhaustion is sluggishness. Maintaining proper nutrition can help with energy levels, which, over time, can help with exhaustion. Eating junk food may be a quick fix when you’re too tired to cook, but it can do you more harm than good in the long run. What counts as proper nutrition? While everyone’s exact nutritional requirements may be different, choosing:
Colorful fruits and vegetables: deep blues, vibrant reds, yellows, oranges, and hearty greens.
Lean meats. Consuming processed meats, those that are smoked or highly salted, should be avoided.
Whole grains: brown rice, whole grain bread, pasta, etc.
Way #8 to Boost Your Energy: Use Caffeine
Caffeine is a way of obtaining more energy. But doing so is a double-edged sword. Coffee, tea, soda, and other caffeinated drinks can help with feeling tired for a while, but consuming too much can leave you feeling jittery and cause heart problems. After the caffeine wears off, there is a “crash” where you’ll need more caffeine to continue to function. Not to mention, constantly drinking caffeine can lead it to become less effective as your body builds up a tolerance to it.
Way #9 to Boost Your Energy: Use Sugar
Sugar can be a way to boost your energy temporarily; however, sugar has its drawbacks, too. Too much sugar can lead to weight gain, diabetes, and cavities. Eating things with natural sugars, such as fruits or dark chocolate, can make the treat feel less guilty.
