Feeling Alone

You cannot be bound.

Slipping, sliding

Falling down

Tumbling all around

Groping, gasping

Begging for air

Fingers tangled together

Ripping, pulling

Breaking my hair

Crawling, reaching

Kneeling down

Pushing, pressing

Weighing, holding

Me down

Squeezing, crushing

Breaking my chest

This rib cage is

Only a vest

Which has been

Cinched to the point

Of complete unrest

Rolling off of me

My skin slids

Off my body

Exposed, naked

Bare — Completely

Unaware of

What the Hell is

Wrong with me

Why can I not

Get any air

Oxygen absent

Nothing is here

Crying, shaking

Shuddering, searching

For help

But there is none

Not in this Hell

Tormented, tricked

I’m shutting down

Soon enough my

Eyes fall out

Blind to reality

You cannot be

Bound

To anything which

You cannot see

Me

You are only

Stuck in this

Dream which comes

In waves slowly

Gently, calmly

Chasing, licking

At your heels

Running, stumbling

Tripping about your

Own mistakes

Flying, soaring

Sky bound

There are no limits

In this life which

You have found

Without your eyes

You see the colors

Bright, blinding

Lights

Searing, scorching

Burning you down

Falling like ashes

Down to the

Ground you’re

Flailing, thrashing

Flapping about

But now these

Arms have given up

You cannot be

Bound

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
