As most of my family and friends know, I have a traveling addiction. Whether it's going to a new place once a week or traveling every opportunity I get, traveling is a huge passion of mine. Being a college student, especially at SUNY Brockport, my wanderlust senses kick in on a daily basis. SUNY Brockport is in a small little town not a lot of people would recognize, theres not much to it besides Lake Ontario nearby, miles of farm land, and a little shopping and eating strip called "Main Street."
Living in Troy, right outside of Albany, I was always able to take my car and explore/take on new adventures quite frequently. I am from a really perfect location for being an addictive traveler. I live on the boarder of Massachusetts and Vermont, Troy is becoming a preppy little village filling with small business and eateries, The capital of New York is just off the highway, Saratoga Springs is a quick 25-minute drive, Lake George, Lake Placid, and the Adirondacks are just north of me. There was ALWAYS something to do. Now that I am spending most of the year in this middle of nowhere town, I have a lot of time to explore being in a new area. I created a list for everyone at Brockport (even University of Rochester, or RIT) who is like me and loves a little adventure while at school.
This list contains endless opportunities you can take on in the 585:
