Sometimes, the days are hard, and sometimes it feels like our battles are just too hard to fight. On those days, we look fro inspiration, and motivation to keep going. For a lot people, this kind of motivation comes from music, so here is a list of ten songs to listen to when you really need a push to keep on keeping on, and why I think they will help you.

1. Fight Song- Rachel Platten

Obviously an actual fight song has to be on here! Fight song is just that, a song about getting up, trying again, and never giving up. It’s a powerful message to stand up, brush yourself off, and just keep singing you fight song!

2. Eye of the Tiger-Survivor

The original motivation song, this song is so up-tempo it can’t help but boost your mood! That, and the lyrics are pretty cool, you have to admit.

3. Love Myself- Hailee Steinfeld

This is literally a song about loving yourself, and not needing anybody else, because you have you! It’s empowerment at its finest, is full of chanting that easy to learn and sing along to, and is super upbeat!

4. Just Hold On- Steve Aoki ft. Louis Tomlinson

This song is actually about holding on, and carrying on, no matter what! It’s kind of a dance track, with a great message!

5. Rise- Katy Perry

Rise above, and be better is the message of this song, and as Katy Perry has a history of great empowering songs (think Firework, Roar, and even Part of Me), you know it’s going to be good!

6. Missing You- All Time Low

This one’s a little slower, so if you’re looking for a dance tune it might not be quite right, but it does have a great message about how many people love you, and would miss you if you weren’t around, and all the good things that are still in the world.

7. Shut Up and Dance- Walk The Moon

Not really a motivation song lyrically, but this tune always makes me feel better, because it’s just so fun and happy! Great for a quick and easy pick me up.

8. Diana- One Direction

Maybe a little young for some (but I think a guilty pleasure song goes a long way!), this song is completely understanding, and makes you feel like the band is actually talking to you! (Try What Makes You Beautiful too, for ultimate enjoyment).

9. I Can Feel It- Hey Violet

Another one that’s not really motivational in the lyrics, but is just so energetic that it can’t help but infuse some energy and joy right back into you too!

10. So What- P!NK

P!NK is great for songs like this (also try F***’n Perfect). This song is so fun, and all about just saying ‘So What’, because regardless of what’s going on in your life, you’re still pretty amazing!

Let us know if you listen to any of these, and they help you at all, or if you have any of your own music recommendations to add!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
