College is hard...wait, wait, LIFE can be hard and a lot of the time it can feel like your world is falling apart, but don't fret! Making your life feel like its going well and you have your stuff together is pretty simple and doesn't take all that much effort. Incorporating things like these in your daily life and making them a part of your routine will slowly start to make you feel regulated and even when the rest of your life feels like it's crashing down, at least you have these things to fall back on to feel put together.

Make Your Bed

Giphy

I know, I know. Making your bed takes so much time and seems so unnecessary because you're just going to sleep in it and mess it up again, right? Well, yes but making your bed really does make you feel like you have your life together. A bed made in a cleanroom just really completes the room and makes it so much easier to focus in said room. And I mean, until there are little birds ready to make your bed for you, someone has to do it.

Have a morning and nighttime care routine

Giphy

Having a skincare and hygiene routine not only helps you keep your skin, teeth, and hair looking nice, but there are a lot of health benefits with keeping a hygiene routine. This also gives you the confidence to conquer your day because your face is shining brighter than usual. It gives you a little pick me up and makes you feel like you really are taking care of yourself.

Read 15 minutes at some point in the day

Giphy

15 minutes is a totally manageable thing for us. I know that you spend 15 minutes on your phone before bed and that could be time spent reading and expanding your knowledge, creativity, or going on an adventure with new characters. This strengthens your mind and also eliminates some of that blue light exposure that messes with your sleep. 15 minutes may sound like "a lot" but it goes by faster than you think.

A quick session of yoga or stretching in the morning

Giphy

This is another one of those things that take a little bit more effort, but allows you to feel like a brand new person after it is over. A quick 5 to 10 minute session of yoga or stretching in the mornings right after you wake up allows you to feel more awake and wakes up your body for the rest of the day. No more falling asleep in class after doing a bit of a routine in the morning. We all sort of stretch when we wake up anyway, a stretch like this will make your body feel energized and ready to tackle anything.

Plan your outfit for the day the night before

Giphy

Picking out your outfit the night before allows you to have less stress in the morning. When I plan my outfit the night before, I am able to wake up in the morning and just get ready, instead of having to try on numerous outfits until I find something that I enjoy. This eliminates the need to search for something that you'd like to wear and even prevents you from always grabbing the same t-shirt and legging combo. Overall, this enables you to have more time in the morning so you aren't feeling so rushed.

 Eat breakfast

Giphy

You've heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day for your entire life, and to an extent, that is correct. Breakfast is the meal that kick starts your metabolism for the day and helps your body burn calories throughout the day. I have recently started eating breakfast and feel so much more energized for the day and I also have seen a difference in how my body loses weight when I work out. It is definitely something to try for yourself.

Buy a planner for the year

Giphy

Planners make me feel complete. I love them with all of my heart. I find that being able to write down everything that is due and that I need to know allows me to stay on top of the things I have due, on top of the agreements I have made and also allow me to schedule time to hang out with my friends and everything. I love that there are so many options for planners and I find there is a type of planner for everyone. Whether it is a calendar, a day-by-day planner, or a bullet journal, these babies are essential for making you feel on top of your game.

Cook, even if they are small meals

Giphy

Eating out all the time is not very good for you and it is mean to your bank account. I have found that even small meals like boiling some noodles up with garlic powder in the water and getting some yummy garlic butter noodles out of it. Cooking is super simple and it is something that you are going to have to take with you for the rest of your life, so now is the best time to learn.

 Shower everyday

Giphy

Personally, I love to shower. I'm a girl with some curly hair though and it isn't always recommended to shower everyday, but honestly a body shower at the least in the morning allows me to feel refreshed and rejuvenated. I highly recommend at least a body shower in the morning or at night to refresh yourself from the events of the day or to start a new day fresh.

 Light a candle

Giphy

Candles are extremely relaxing. If I have a bad day, I know I can come home and light a candle and feel better. The scents they give off, the warmth of the fire, there is just something about the pretty light it gives off that makes everything better. Definition of self care.

Getting your life together can be so much easier than everyone makes it seem. Simple little things make your life so much easier and make you feel like you have your entire life in the palm of your hand. I genuinely enjoy doing small little things to make my day feel more put together. Hopefully these things can be incorporated in your everyday life to make you feel like you got your stuff together.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help.
