Do not worry.

What do you do when you start feeling left behind in life? I ask myself that question when I feel a bit stressed about the course workload that I have to finish in order to proceed to the next chapter in my life. What first comes to mind is to not procrastinate, but procrastinating comes from the habit of stressing out and not knowing the first step to complete your work. To get out of that endless cycle of feeling left behind due to procrastination, here are some steps you may want to look over.

1. Research

Perhaps it is not that you do not have any ideas. You just need to research your topic further. There may be gaps in your work that need to be solved through researching other works similar to your own. Research how other people were able to accomplish the same problems that you are going through.

2. Support system

Got any friends, family, loved ones who can lend an ear? Good. They can help you understand your problems and listen to you to guide you in the right direction.

3. Relax

Being behind schedule will make you rush in a panic, but take a few minutes to rethink your strategy so you don't work in vain and get nothing done if you do not feel up to it.

4. Go outside

It is easy to get caught up in the minuscule tasks of everyday life. Go outside, and refresh your mind on the beauty of what is around you. It will make you realize that your homework problems are only a small fraction of your life, and there is a bigger world out there for you to focus on.

5. Study

Often times, if we can not do the work than we don't understand its topic. So study it more.

6. Strategy

7. Get well rested

Sometimes, we just need to take a rest and let our minds stay calm. Worrying about the common rituals that need to be done do more harm than good on your health and stall progress on the task at hand.

8. Plan it out

Writing out the problem that you are trying to solve can help you start planning out the solution for your work. At first, we cannot simply stress out by thinking about and need to do more action.

9. Listen to instrumental music

As noted, listening to your favorite go to songs on your playlist will be the first that comes time mind, but don't just put any song on. It is best to pick classical music to concentrate on the task at hand. Not the sad ones, but the type of music you'd hear in a coffee shop.

10. Problem Solve

Think about why you are doing the work that you do. It is easy to get caught up into your work and forget the reason as to why you want to do it. Refreshing your mind on what is possible can take you down a different path to figuring out how to tackle the obstacle in your corner.

11. Be Active

Exercising can be a good way to take stress off of you and relieve tension. Plus, it is healthy for you.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
