It's a national holiday, where local comic book stores across the US of A gather around to give out free comics and have blockbuster deals. You can get an array of amazing new comic books for jaw dropper prices. Honestly, who can beat the price of free? It's the Black Friday in the comic book world. Free comic book day is a glorious holiday if you're a nerd like me.
When I was younger I used to gather up my quarters and march down to my Comic's World, the local comic shop in Chambersburg. I used to get comic books every month as I was following my favorite anti-hero, Harley Quinn. Unfortunately, due to time and money restrainments, I'm not able to keep up with that monthly ritual anymore.
However, you bet your ass I'm going to free comic book day. It marks probably one of the few times I go to the comic book store nowadays. The deals there are just so hard to resist.
If you've never read a comic book before that's fine. Free comic book day is an easy way to experiment in reading comic books. You don't have anything to lose by indulging in a free comic book. While looking through the sales rack you might even find something you've always wanted to read. Last year I found Deadpool and Cat women amongst the sales.
Comics are for everyone. If you've ever enjoyed a movie, book or superhero there's a comic book for it. Comics have entertaining stories in fun graphics. It's easy to digest and It's not a huge time commitment like other hobbies. You can easily read comics on the go or in between classes.

I'm just so excited it's finally coming around and I can't wait to browse through the comic book store. It makes you feel like a kid again.
