Q&A With Bass Music Producer, Herobust
Christian W Hundley

As some of you may know from my past article, Bassrush Massive AZ was one of the greatest EDM events I have experienced. One of coolest parts about the event was having the incredible opportunity to have my first small interview with one of the producer's at the event, Herobust. It was my first time seeing him and his set was one of the most fun to dance to with friends and fellow crowd members.

Hayden Kramer, better known as Herobust, is a Bass Music Producer in Electronic Dance Music from Atlanta, GA. He released his new song "Vertebreaker" that has quickly become popular. He wrapped his "Vertebreaker World Tour" but don't worry, he's not finished yet! He will be performing at EDC Las Vegas, Bonnaroo, and more festivals this summer. If you haven't experienced one of his sets just yet, I recommend you catch him at one of the festivals or shows!

What inspired you to become an artist?

I really enjoyed music, but it wasn't just about liking songs for me. It was about how intricate songs could be, and the mechanics of how you could make sounds like that. That's really what got me inspired.

How young were you?

I started making beats around 13, I think.

Do you remember the first beat you made?

Not really. Haha! I probably made like 2 or 3 beats that day. But I remember getting excited when I figured out something new.

What was it like performing your first show and first music festival?

Exciting and nerve racking. When you do something your first time, it's always terrifying. But that adrenaline gives you this feeling that makes you want to always be up there performing!

Which show/festival has been the most memorable to you?

Man, every festival is a whole new experience, and I have a hard time saying one is more memorable than another, but I really liked Middlelands a lot. It was dope to see the crowd getting hype there, and I feel that the medieval vibe really added to the enthusiasm of everyone there, both performers and the crowd.

Do you have any artists who inspire/influence you?

A lot of rappers and Hip-Hop producers inspired me in the past, but as of now, I like watching what my friends make! It's cool to see their styles grow, and they inspire me to do the same in my career.

Who would you like to collaborate with?

Man, if I could collab with some of the rappers that are popping up right now, that'd be tight.

What advice can you give to aspiring producers and artists?

Finish your tracks, and never stop making tunes.

What can fans expect from you in the future?

More music! I'll keep creating new tunes for as long as I can!

Huge thank you to Herobust and his management for this opportunity to interview. Also, thank you to Christian Hundley for letting me use his amazing photographs from the event.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
