The Divide Album: My Favorite Songs

Ed Sheeran took a break from the world in 2016 leaving us with only one good bye tweet. He basically fell off the face of the planet and I had no idea what to do with my life. Then on January 1st 2017 Ed Sheeran graced our world with his presence tweeting a video about his new album coming soon. Three months later Divide was released and it’s pure greatness. But what else do you expect when it comes to Ed Sheeran. Divide has 16 amazing songs and I'm going to tell you my 4 favorite songs on the album.

1. Dive

When I first heard Dive it was like Ed Sheeran was speaking to my soul; this song is basically me. It’s about Ed telling the girl he likes that if she doesn't really like him then tell him before he falls more in love with her. Which is how I am, I'm an “all or nothing” type of girl.

“So don't call me baby
Unless you mean it
Don't tell me you need me
If you don't believe it
So let me know the truth
Before I dive right into you"

2. Perfect

Perfect is the song I'm going to dance to at my wedding. This is an amazing love songs, one of the best ones that Ed has written. In the song he is talking to the girl he loves and telling her that she is perfect. What girl doesn't want to be told that? Especially in a song.

"Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, with you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song
I have faith in what I see
Now I know I have met an angel in person
And she looks perfect
I don't deserve this
You look perfect tonight”

3. Shape of You

Shape of You was the first song I heard on the album and I just fell in love with it. Even though the song was different than anything I heard him sing and I was a little skeptical of it. Then I heard him sing it live and I was sold. The song it about Ed meeting a girl and saying how he is love with her body. Even though I am a feminist I still love the song.

“I'm in love with the shape of you
We push and pull like a magnet do
Although my heart is falling too
I'm in love with your body"

4. New Man

My last favorite song is New Man,it is a catchy song that I can dance too. New Man is about Ed talking to his ex and telling her that he doesn't want to know about her new boyfriend. The beat of the song is amazing and I can not wait to hear him sing the song live.

“I don't wanna know about your new man
'Cause if it was meant to be
You wouldn't be callin' me up tryin' to"

At the end of the day Divide is just a master piece and each song on the album is unique and lovely in its own way. If I was you I would get my hands on the album as soon as I can.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

Because we made it, and because high school seniors deserve to know what they're getting themselves into

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
