Quotes, as cliché as they can be at times, offer amazing insight that can be applied to disparate aspects of life. Here is a list of my favorite quotes of all time. These quotes will challenge you, inspire you, and might even change the way you look at life.

“ Do right. Do your best. Treat others as you want to be treated. “ -- Lou Holtz

This quote basically encapsulates the most important things to do in life and highlights how we should all live each day. No matter what you do, you should always act morally and try as hard as you can.

2. “The best way to predict the future is to create it”--- Peter Drucker

As Ducker emphasizes, a bright future does not just come from pure luck. We all have the power to create the future we want with determination and goal setting.

3. “Believe you can and you’re halfway there” -- Theodore Roosevelt

Many people, myself included, are negative at times and are not confident in their abilities. In reality, though, as long as you believe you can do something, you can often achieve it.

4. Life is about making an impact, not making an income --- Kevin Kruse

Our society is obsessed with monetary gain over actually making a difference. We define success as making millions, instead of helping others. While money is necessary to live a decently comfortable life, you should be more concerned with how you impact the world around you than how many figures your salary is.

5. “You miss 100 percent of the shots that you don’t take” -- Wayne Gretzky

Each and every day, there are a plethora of opportunities that you can either pass up or embrace. If you want to stay in the little bubble that is your comfort zone, refusing to take any shots, you will be complacent and not actually face new opportunities and challenges. Taking a shot and air balling is better than simply neglecting to take the shot.

6. Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life-- Steve Jobs

Often times, people put on a mask and act as they think others want them to. Don't conform to every norm of society and be someone you aren’t. Instead, be honest about yourself and your identity and present your true self to others. Our time on Earth is precious so we should not waste it being people we are not.

7. Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful. –Joshua J. Marine

Challenges are never fun to face, but without them, we remain complacent and bored. Challenges help us struggle and learning how to recover from these such struggles is what makes us better, more driven people.

8. Dream big and dare to fail. –Norman Vaughan

I attend a college where people are used to being at the top of their class and good at everything. Therefore, failure seems at be evaded at all costs. However, everyone, even the people who seem to be unstoppable, fails at some point. In order to achieve success, you need to take big risks, which can sometimes lead to facing failure.

9. “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” -Theodore Roosevelt

Life is about making the best of what you have right now. You do not need everything to be happy and successful.

10. Do not dwell on the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment-- Buddha

We can all learn from these wise words of Buddha, as most of us think in terms of the future and the past instead of in the present moment. For instance, all throughout high school, I thought about college. Now as a freshman in college, I am already thinking about careers after college. While contemplating the future is important, if you do not focus on the present, you will be majorly missing out on all the beauty of the present.

11. Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated --Confucius

Most of us tend to overanalyze each decision we make and obsess about the things we cannot control. Life, however, is quite simple and instead of getting involved in all the details, we should relish the overall simplicity of the world around us.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
