To My Favorite Professor

Thank you for listening to me and helping me get through life.

To My Favorite Professor
High Point University

Dear Professor,

I want to take a moment to thank you. I could say it a thousand times and it would never be enough. You are an amazing mentor!

We first met when I decided to take your summer experience class. I was an excited Freshman who had no idea what to expect from a full-blown university class. On the first day of class, I realized that you were the coolest professor I had ever met, and I have met several throughout my life. About a week into class, I realized that you would be very important in my life while here at HPU. Little did I know how special you would be. In your summer class, I learned so many things about myself and I truly believe if I had never taken your course, I would not have learned some of those things for a long time.

Since day one, you had my back. I don't think I've ever had a professor or any teacher who had as much confidence in me as you did. It really is the best feeling knowing that you believe in me as much as you do. You have helped me with numerous things, from your valuable advice to giving me ideas on how to start my own photography business. You even sat there at your desk and listened to me rant on and on about things that made me upset without hesitation. You have an uncanny way of always making me feel better about all the difficult things that happen in life.

I feel as though I could come to you for anything. The good, the bad, and all of the in-between's. And anything sports-related, of course! Throughout this year, I've forgotten how many times I walked to Cottrell just to visit you. Sometimes it was easy to walk into your office, but other times I had to force myself walk over there knowing it would be worth it in the end. Your positive attitude has kept me positive and given me another perspective on those difficult situations in life.

Thank you for always pointing me in the right direction and taking me under your wing. You always find time for me and for that I am grateful. You always make me feel important and valued. And you always believe in me, even when I don't believe in myself. You have given me opportunities I never saw coming.

I know that you will always be an important influence in my life. I know that after my years here at HPU, I will stay in contact with you. I'll be sure to keep you up-to-date on what I have accomplished and my plans for the future. I'll probably never stop asking you for advice. I have been incredibly blessed to have you as a professor and mentor.

Your absolute favorite student in the whole wide world (A.K.A. at HPU),

C.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
