Favorite Makeup Products For 2018
Harlee Toothman

I have been in love with makeup since I was a Sophomore in high school. I probably have my cousin Sterling to thank for that! He's been doing my makeup for every Prom, Formal and Homecoming since about fourth grade.

When I became more interested in makeup I started watching Jaclyn Hill's videos on Youtube. She truly taught me "How To Do Makeup". This interest in makeup grew into a passion and the passion grew into an obsession. Most girls my age spend their money on new Lulu Lemon nails, clothes & shoes while I spend mine at Sephora. Now to jump into the good stuff!

My Favorite Makeup Products for 2018 are (drumroll please)

A little side note: these products are mine that I bought with my own money & the products being reviewed are for people with normal to dry skin.

1. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water

It's an all-in-one makeup remover. With NO oil, alcohol or fragrance. I have eyelash extensions so this is perfect for me because there is no rinse or harsh rubbing. I just purchase cotton rounds and use those to remove my makeup.

This product is good for face, lips, and eyes.

Retails for about $7 at Walmart.

2. Mac Fix +

It's 100 ML of a soothing moisture mix that you can use before and after you apply makeup. It's very refreshing and although it's a pretty penny, mine has lasted me over a year.

Retails for $26.

3. Morphe Deluxe Buffer M439

This soft-bristled brush is SOOO amazing to apply your foundation with. I rave about it with everyone. It's also really inexpensive and so soft!

Retails for $14.

4. Morphe 350 Palette

With 35 color options from cooler grey tones to fiery sunset colors, this palette is the perfect mix of wearable warm neutrals for any day-time look or night-time glam. It has the perfect balance of mattes and shimmers that are the perfect go-to looks for any makeup lovers at any skill level.

Retails for $23.

5. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

This concealer will change your under eye game forever. It's so creamy and consistent and also LASTS FOREVER. The best part is they come in over fourteen shades for every skin color! It's non-greasy, buildable coverage, and long-lasting.

Retails for $27

6. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Highlighter

First of all, let me say that THIS PRODUCT SMELLS SO GOOD; like roses, or cupcakes, or something wonderful and sweet. I have the shade "Stunner" it's an opalescent highlight and doubles as a highlighter and a blush! I normally apply this product with a fan brush.

Retails for $29.

7. Milani Liquid Lipsticks

OMG talk about long-lasting. These babies do not come off easily! They are so smooth and creamy and don't dry out your lips like some liquid lipsticks do. Plus Milani is drugstore brand so they're easy to find and inexpensive!

Retails for about $8.

8. Milani Baked Blush

Wow, these blushes for this price... are unbeatable. They have a slight shimmer to them. It's a multi-purpose blush that shapes, contours, and highlights all at the same time. Plus the gold packaging is beautiful and comes with a mini mirror and a blush brush.
My shade is in 01 Dolce Pink.

Retails for $8 at the drugstore.

9. NYX Total Control Drop Foundation

This foundation is 13 ML and looks small when you first purchase it but it's amazing! It lasts a good while and has thirty whole shades to choose from. I usually apply a couple drops to my cheeks, nose, and forehead and blend out with a beauty blender or my Morphe M439 foundation brush.

Retails for $14.

10. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

This is a waterproof eyeliner called "Trooper". It has a very fine tip so it's easy for simple eyeliner looks or even a bold cat eye. It has beautiful packaging and also lasts a very long time!

Retails for $20

These are my favorite makeup products for 2018 :)

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
