As a huge makeup lover and collector, I own way more eyeshadow palettes than I know what to do with. Even though I wear the same three shades almost every single day of the week, I still purchase new, high-end eyeshadow palettes religiously. After many years of spending hundreds of dollars at my local Ulta, I have come to the conclusion that not all high-end eyeshadow palettes are worth it. Here are some of the eyeshadow palettes that I have loved and some that I wish I had never bought.
My Favorites:
1. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar by Too Faced
Too Faced is possibly my absolute favorite makeup brand. Not only do their products work incredibly well, but they smell as good as they look. The Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette is a beautiful eyeshadow palette composed of warm brown shades. This is possibly one of the best palettes I have ever purchased.
2. Naked by Urban Decay
Everybody has heard of the Naked palettes by Urban Decay. They have been wildly popular in the past several years, but the only one I truly love is the original Naked palette. As someone with brown/green hazel eyes, the colors in this palette compliment my eye color. The application of the eyeshadow is amazing, and I have used every color eyeshadow in this palette.
3. Natural Eyes by Too Faced
Again, another Too Faced palette. I had actually never planned on buying this palette because it is very small and I didn't think it would be worth it. However, my manager convinced me to impulsively buy it and I do not regret it at all. The Natural Eyes palette is compact yet contains beautiful warm tones of eyeshadow for any occasion. This is my go-to eyeshadow palette for school!
My Least Favorites:
1. Modern Renaissance by Anastasia Beverly Hills
I have been using Anastasia's eyebrow products for a very long time, which is why I purchased this eyeshadow palette. Although the eyebrow pencils and pomade are great quality, the eyeshadow palette is not. The colors are beautiful, but the fallout is not worth the look. I like eyeshadow that I can apply quickly and easily, and the Modern Renaissance palette flakes onto my cheeks every time I apply it.
2. Naked 3 by Urban Decay
Although I love the original Naked, I wasn't a huge fan of Naked 3. Although the quality is great, the colors just didn't do it for me. The colors are far too light to really make an interesting makeup look.
If you are considering buying any high-end eyeshadow palettes, I hope this helps!
