Highlight is my favorite type of makeup, and it shows when you look at my makeup desk. Highlight makes your makeup look more like skin, a dewy glowy sheen is what you're looking for on a daily basis, and glowing to heaven is what you're going for on your more dramatic going out looks. While I have tried many, I do have a top 5 and here they are!! (Click the photos for a link to the product!!)

1. Star Crushed Minerals Starbright Highlighter in Birthday Suit

I love this highlighter with a passion for two reasons. One because you can make your face shine to the heavens and you can also make a soft subtle slightly glittery glow. It's best applied with a slightly fluffy brush on the cheekbones! Pro tip: the best way to make this pop is to put a cream or liquid highlighter and or moisturizer under it!

2. Benefit Watts Up! Highlighter

Watts Up is such a beautiful highlighter for fair skin, I got it in my Sephora Play! bag and the mini size is actually so good I'm so excited about it. It is best applied straight to the skin and then blended out with the fingers. Pro tip: if you have the mini size, it's the perfect inner eye corner highlight and if you get the larger version applying to the inner corner would be very easy with your pinky!!

3. Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm

This is the perfect highlighter for you "No makeup makeup look" its very very light on the skin, moisturizing, and has almost no color. It is best applied with the fingers and blended into the skin on the cheekbones, nose, inner corner and anywhere else you'd like a subtle glow. Pro tip: Its perfect for putting under a powder highlighter use it under the Starbright Highlighter its amazing!!!) or wearing alone for a very subtle highlight!!

4. Benefit Dandelion Twinkle Highlighting Powder

I actually use Benefit's Dandelion Twinkle as an all over highlighting powder to set all of my makeup in. It gives off an amazing sheen to the skin, just like you aren't even wearing makeup. It can also be used as a traditional highlight. It can be applied best with a large fluffy powder blush as a finishing powder or with the brush provided or a fan brush as a traditional highlight. Pro tip: I firmly believe this is a dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, if someone gets both and tries them out, let me know if you think so @risssky on twitter!!

5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit

I love my glow kit. but I actually have one that was limited edition and no longer sold. The Anastasia Glow Kits are pigmented but creamy powders that glide on the skin like silk as they light up your face. All of the kits have a color for every skin tone, even the ones that look darker can look amazing on light skin and vice versa. Use a fan brush to apply them to get a low shine, glossy look and a more dense flat brush to pack on the glow.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
