My Favorite Songs From Glee
TV Guide

"Glee" was a drama that aired on Fox from 2009 to 2015. It was a show that was filled with drama, music, acceptance, real world problems, and drama. I've mentioned drama twice because this show was overly dramatic, sometimes to the point of too dramatic, but somehow it all worked. Between the fits of anger from each character, endless love stories, and the fight to be the best show choir, there was a lot of drama. However, within all that, there were some amazing songs. Here is a list of only some of my favorites.

1. Somebody To Love

Season one, episode five. This was the New Directions impromptu performance at Invitationals, shortly after Holly Holiday quit on the choir. Although the song was not one that was planned to be performed, it helped the New Directions win Invitationals.

2. I'll Stand By You

Season one, episode ten. This is the song that Finn sings to "his" unborn child. (Those who have watched the show know what happens). He is worried he won't ever get to meet his daughter, and that she will feel unloved. Kurt encourages him to sing this, to which he ends up singing to the sonogram. This is also when Finn's mom, Carol, learns her son is going to be a father. (Sort of).

3. Touch A Touch A Touch A Touch Me

Season two, episode five. Although this is not an important song, it is definitely one of my favorites (and not just because we get to see Matthew Morrison shirtless). I love Jayma Mays' voice, and I love that this was one of the first songs we get to hear her sing in. This song also continues to make it harder for Mr. Shue to hide his feelings for Emma, even though she is dating Carl. I just really love this song, and Jayma's voice paired with it.

4. Teenage Dream

Season two, episode six. This is the first song we hear performed by the Warblers. It is also sung just after Kurt and Blaine's first encounter in the stairwell, along with their infamous slow motion run down the hallway of Dalton Academy. It's the first song that Kurt hears Blaine sing. It is also a cappella, and I absolutely love that.

5. Loser Like Me

Season two, episode sixteen. This song is a "Glee" original, coincidentally part of the setlist for the episode titled "Original Song." This song was inspired by Sue's harsh words and actions towards the glee club. I think this song provides a wonderful message for the teenagers who are watching "Glee."

6. Run The World (Girls)

Season three, episode three. The ultimate girl power song. Of course this song makes the list. As Brittany begins her campaign for class president, she believes there is not enough girl power at McKinley. She organizes a pep rally, complete with this wonderful flash mob performance.

7. Fix You

Season three, episode three. Yes, this is from the same episode above, but it is too good not to add here. This is one of the first times that Will expresses his interest in helping Emma with her OCD, and shows how much he cares about her. He might not understand what he can do to help her, such as how he gets down to pray with her, but he is more than willing to help her, which he shows through singing this song.

8. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Season three, episode seven. The glee club attempts to help Santana realize that it is okay to be who she is, that she no longer has to hide from her sexuality. Finn sits her down, trying to get through the her that they still love her, and accept her for who she is. Later in the episode, Santana comes out to her parents, who were accepting, and her abuela, who was less than accepting.

9. We Found Love

Season three, episode ten. Ah, marriage proposals. This is the song that Will uses to propose to Emma, along with the help of the glee club and synchronized swim team. After an elaborate performance, he asks Emma to marry him. Through tears, she says yes, and our Wemma hearts exploded.

10. Cough Syrup

Season three, episode fourteen. I know so many songs from season three, but it was just wonderful. This is an incredibly emotional song and scene. David Karofsky, the student who had bullied Kurt into transferring schools, comes out as gay. He receives the exact reaction he feared. Between being laughed at and called names in the locker room and being bullied online, he feels as though there is nothing left. He attempts suicide during this song. Fortunately, David's dad finds him before it is too late.

11. We Are The Champions

Season three, episode twenty-one. Mr. Shuester is named teacher of the year shortly after the glee club takes first at nationals. When Rachel and Finn announce his win, the glee club serenade him with this song in this sweet moment.

12. You're The One That I Want

Season four, episode six. I love "Grease," and I love "Glee." I'm glad that this was one of the musicals chosen to be the school musicals. During this number of the musical, couples that have broken up, imagine singing it to their love interest. I felt that this was an interesting take on the song and a different way to portray the scene.

13. Homeward Bound/Home

Season four, episode eight. Members of the glee club alumni come together in the auditorium to perform this song. They all promised to be home for Thanksgiving, and kept that promise. This scene is heartwarming and bittersweet.

14. All You Need Is Love

Season five, episode one. Ah, more proposals. This is the song Blaine uses to propose to Kurt. The proposal takes place at Dalton Academy, with the help of both the New Directions and the Warblers. Blaine bends down on one knee in front of the staircase where the two first met.

15. Seasons of Love

Season five, episode three. Yes, this dreaded episode. This is the episode where "Glee" paid tribute to Cory Monteith's death, as well as his character, Finn Hudson. This song is sung by almost all members of glee club, both past and present. It is emotional and beautiful.

16. If I Die Young

Season five, episode three. Again this episode. This is Santana's song for Finn. In the middle of her performance, she breaks down crying, running out of the choir room. Santana regrets not being nicer to Finn and wishes she had been, which she admits to Kurt when he finds her in the auditorium. I especially loved the raw emotion from the entire cast throughout this episode. (Their tears were not scripted, they are real).

17. Wishin' and Hoping

Season six, episode six. This is the song that explains how Brittany feels with Santana. It also gives Artie the idea of heaven as their wedding theme. I love Brittana's relationship so much.

18. I Know Where I've Been

Season six, episode seven. Not only is this song from my favorite musical, "Hairspray", but it was such a spectacular performance. Unique is brought back to make Coach Beiste feel accepted along with a choir of transgender individuals. It was showstopping and incredibly emotional.

19. At Last

Season six, episode eight. This is the song that Santana and Brittany, and Kurt and Blaine walk down the aisle to. After six seasons of rooting for both of these ships, we finally get to see the both of them get married, at a joint wedding and it was beautiful.

20. I Lived

Season six, episode thirteen. This is the last ever song performed on "Glee." An emotional and beautiful end to such an inspirational show.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Advice To Live By As Told By Bob's Burgers

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
