With move-in fast approaching, I'm not only looking forward to the reunion with friends but also to spend some time in my favorite spots on Creighton's campus.
So here's a quick list of those places that I spend most of my time.
1. Skutt
I think this is a given and probably top of the list for most Creighton students. If I'm bored, meeting up with a friend, working on homework, grabbing lunch or just trying to have some down time between classes there's a good chance I'll find a spot in the student center and remain there for a while.
2. "The Mall"
The walkway stretching the length of campus is always a safe bet for where to find me if it's a nice day. Towards the end of the year, I spent probably too much time avoiding responsibilities and chilling out on the mall with friends. While I can sit at a picnic table or on the lawn I really love sitting on the wall just outside Skutt. Even just walking to and from classes I'll catch myself stopping to talk with friends heading as we head to our next class.
3. Hammocks
(I particularly love the one outside of Kiewit) Mocking season is a favorite season. Again, it's an excuse to be outside. Nothing quite compares to relaxing on a hammock in the sun. I think everyone can agree it was a special day when the hammocks went back up on campus.
4. Top floor of the library
This may seem specific, but as I began spending more time in the library during the second semester I needed to find my spot. And as weird as it may seem, I have some good memories from my late nights spent there. While the library may be the best place for me to focus, sitting at the line of tables across from the staircase with some friends offers a little escape from the weight of homework that needs to get done.
5. St. John's
As a college student, I definitely get stressed. Luckily, Creighton has a good place to turn when I need to relax. It's so peaceful to sit in the church either by myself or surrounded by fellow students at Mass on Sunday nights.
