Everyone has something that they love to do. Something that they want to do every day if possible. For some people that's singing. Others love to play sports. Some love to draw and paint. Reading is also a popular choice. The same is true for writing! But, the one I love most is one that is often seen as something that can and should be left in your childhood memories.
I love to color. I love to take the black and white drawings of some amazing artists and make them look that much better. Not that I'm the great colorist there is but sometimes black and white drawings can be boring. Specifically, I love using adult coloring books. They've been extremely popular for the last few years and for good reason. They are very therapeutic in nature and have been known to relieve stress if the user of these books can just sit down and involve themselves with this activity for a little while. Each picture is different and will require a different amount of time. If I could spend an entire day coloring in adult coloring books I would. But, that's unrealistic for a college student. I wanted to highlight my favorite coloring books in my collection to hopefully inspire whoever reads this to give this odd hobby a try.
Johanna Basford - Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest, and Magical Jungle
I love this artist! Her intricate drawings and attention to detail are amazing. I have all of her books except her Christmas book and the only one I'm not really fond of is Lost Ocean. I'm trying to like it though. I work in it every now and then. If you like intricate, detailed pictures of flowers, animals, nature scenes and the like, Secret Garden and Enchanted Forest is for you! If you like all of that but without so much detail then Magical Jungle is your pick.
Dover - Creative Haven
Honestly, I love every single book in this collection even though I don't even have half of them. Of the six or so that I have, the Designer Desserts, Creative Cats, and Dazzling Dogs ones are my favorites. I love animals and the desserts are just cute. The cat and dog ones are quite a bit more detailed than the dessert one. Still, you can't go wrong when getting a book from this line.
I could go on all day about every single one of my favorite coloring books but that would take too long and I would probably end up naming every book in my collection.
