Remember the Miami man who ate off another man's face while he was supposedly under the influence of bath salts in 2012? Well ,watch out America because bath salts have a cousin and it unfortunately may be coming to a town near you.
As if face-eating cannibals weren't terrible enough, this dangerous new drug, that goes by the name of Flakka, sometimes also referred to as gravel, is creating more havoc than Kanye did when announcing his plans to run for president in the 2020 election.
Flakka is a man - made drug that brings users a high, which is similar to the high Cocaine brings. However, it is a much more serious and dangerous drug than Cocaine. Flakka can be smoked, injected, or snorted. It leads to the inevitable violent behavior, delirium, paranoia, and sometimes, death.
Flakka contains the chemical MDVP which is the main ingredient in bath salts. The chemicals in Flakka interferes with neurons in the brain that usually keep a persons mood regulated. This interference causes negative reactions, to the brain, and in some cases can even result in permanent brain damage to the drug user. The usual Flakka high typically lasts anywhere from one hour to several hours.
Flakka makes people do some crazy sh*t. From stripping down on the interstate and running around naked to becoming convinced that your dog is pregnant with your babies, (yes, those are real occurrences) it definitely is an "exciting" drug. I can only imagine the shame and embarrassment when the high is over..
Oh and for a whopping $3 - to - $5, you can purchase a single dose of Flakka!!!! How convenient, right?
Not only is Flakka taking over lives, but it is also taking over Southern Florida. There have been 16 Flakka related deaths in Broward County alone, and that's just in the span of a few months.
Oh and for those of you curious about the effects one has while on Flakka....
