Today's society is filled with people looking for the fastest way to lose weight. However, most people want to magically lose weight without changing their diet or exercise. One product sweeping the market through social media that promises instant results are adhesive bands. These adhesive bands are sold by a number of different companies and I have to admit that the quick results and before and after pictures really intrigued me. But like most things today, these bands come at a not-so-cheap price.

To save money, but still try the product, I researched what exactly it was made of and if there was a way to replicate it. I quickly found out that I could closely replicate these adhesive weight loss bands with just saran wrap and icy hot. Easy right?! I tried this homemade band over the course of a week and had some interesting results. By applying icy hot to your abdomen and then wrapping that area with saran wrap, you instantly feel an overwhelming amount of heat. The combination of the two household products causes your body to produce large amounts of sweat which gives instant results.

However, these results are not permanent. The heat makes you essentially lose all of your water weight, thus the sweat. That is why it is crucial not to leave it on longer than thirty minutes or to even sleep in one because it can cause dehydration. Lastly, I also noticed the longer it is left on the greater impact it has on making your skin peel. So if you try it in the summer, say goodbye to tan skin. Overall, the DIY replication of these adhesive weight loss bands did produce the fast results as advertised, but these results were not permanent.

So if you want quick results I recommend these bands, but if you want long lasting results incorporating exercise and eating healthier are the two best products for that!

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
