Universal Studios Florida's latest attraction opened up in April 2018 to mixed reviews. After a vague opening date of "Spring 2018" and a construction length of three years, Fast and Furious: Supercharged takes you on a party bus to the after party of Dom Toretto's (played by Vin Diesel in the film franchise) victory from another street race.
The simulator-style ride utilizes a ride system reminiscent of Skull Island: Reign of Kong, which opened up on the other side of the resort in Islands of Adventure in July 2016.

Similar to the park's second newest attraction, Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon - which opened in April 2017 - this attraction uses a Virtual Line system. Guests are invited to visit a kiosk at the attraction entrance or the Universal Orlando Resort app and select a return time. This allows them to experience other attractions in the park and then return within their allotted hour time slot.

Within the queue line, you will walk through Toretto's garage, featuring multiple cars from the various films, as well as Easter eggs placed strategically to hint at the attractions that used to be in that same location. Be on the lookout for a Beetlejuice Funko Pop figure (representing Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue) and a jacket from a Team Member from Disaster! A Major Motion Picture Ride...Starring You!
Notice the name tag on the jacket, Luis was a Team Member who worked at Disaster! A Major Motion Picture Ride...Starring You! who was one of the victims of the Pulse nightclub attack in 2016. On the two year anniversary of the attack, one of Luis' fellow coworkers placed the name tag on the jacket.
A new element implemented into this attraction was the addition of two pre-shows, featuring live actors. Pat and Jamie will give you the rundown of the attraction and what you can expect and then you'll be on your way to the five minute or so ride.

Five minutes is a decent length of a ride, however, the ride feels a lot shorter due to its simulator aspects and lack of actual movement.
Whilst it may not be a rollercoaster or Test Track-esque style ride that many guests and Universal Studios fans were expecting and hoping for, this attraction places you in the heart of the film franchise so that you feel as part of Dom and his team - frequently referred to as his 'family'.
Despite many negative reactions and reviews of this attraction, you have to turn a blind eye and experience something new at the theme park. Whilst many people are looking at this as a ride that is short and a smaller replica of Skull Island: Reign of Kong, the ride is only one aspect of a whole attraction.

Think of it this way:
Virtual line + real film props + two pre-shows with real actors + a ride = A unique attraction
It may not have been the attraction everyone was expecting, however, this appears to be the way Universal is heading with its newer attractions.
Take it with a grain of salt and appreciate the bigger picture of Fast & Furious: Supercharged!
