Fashion Trends At Fordham University

I am a junior at Fordham University in the Bronx. I also have taken classes at the Lincoln Center campus and from my encounter on these campus's, I've definitely noticed the most popular fashion trends at Fordham. Here's what I've noticed!

Sweatpants Are Acceptable?

Giphy

Acceptable enough, at least, for a huge portion of students to wear them going about their days, at class and even at work! I'm a huge fan of matching sweatsuits; I think they're very trendy and I own a few myself. However, I do think that there is a time and place for sweatpants and I definitely wouldn't wear this to work. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of baggy pajama like sweatpants. I just don't think it looks good, but to each their own!

Trendy / Unique Trench Coats

Giphy

I've recently a lot more unique patterned trench coats in place of the traditional oversized black winter jacket. I definitely love this trend and tried a green plaid trench coat with my Rent The Runway subscription!

I think that using jackets as an additional fashion statement or way to show off your style is super cool and I'm happy to see that we're expanding from the traditional winter coat.

NY has terrible winters, so we may as well take advantage of it however we can and rock some cool jackets!

Business Casual / Everyday Attire

Giphy

A lot of people go for the everyday attire that is sometimes a bit more on the business casual side and other times more on the trendy and stylish side! I'm a fan of all aspects of this trend and definitely rock this trend quite often myself. I think a solid pair of jeans with a stylish sweater or shirt paired with the right shoes can be just what you need to look put together and ready to tackle your day, without requiring too much thought or effort.

Girl Boss

Giphy

Another trend that I am definitely a fan of and rock myself is the girl boss vibe! It can be jeans with a button down blouse and booties and you're rocking people's socks off. It doesn't take a dress or super expensive clothes to make a girl boss vibe, just experiment with what you have and flaunt it!

I believe that comfort comes over everything so if you wear outfits that comfortable and make you feel confident, it will work wonders for you!

Hipster

Giphy

There is definitely a huge population of students at Fordham that are very trendy and wear what I would categorize as hipster clothes. From band tees to patterned pants, there is definitely a very creative and outgoing side to Fordham's population and I absolutely love seeing what unique and bold statements my fellow classmates can make with their outfits.

Business Man

Giphy

I can't remember the last time I went about campus and didn't see a guy in a suit. Besides looking like a pretty boy, dressing in a suit will make you look and feel more professional and may influence how you go about your day.

I do not wear suits, but I can imagine that they can be quite uncomfortable so if you don't NEED to wear a suit but want to look very professional and put together, I am a huge fan of a blazer with jeans and dress shoes.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

CSU

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
