As the temperatures slowly begin to drop, pumpkin spiced items begin popping up, and as stores release their fall pieces one hue stands out as the go-to color for Fall 2017. Olive green is emerging in jackets, jeans, leggings, and more and I want to let you in on some of my go-to olive staples and new favorites for this fall along with how to style them!

I always say that olive is one of the few perfect colors to wear in fall and winter because it won't clash with your favorite denim or black leggings/pants like the usual grey, black and navy hues will. All of these pieces are extremely versitle and also feature the trend of mixing feminine details and cuts with rugged, tomboy style, creating a chic and timeless combo that is sure to carry you all season long.

High Rise Busted Knee Skinnies

Free People

These Free People jeans are the epitome of this year's fall trend. A classic skinny denim silouette provides feminie styling features while the ripped details offer just the right amount of edginess that every girl needs.

Since the pants are our lovely olive tone, keep the top simple! A white blouse or half-tucked tee with a gold necklace would be a great way to polish off this quick and easy fall look. Don't forget to add your favorite neutral heeled bootie to complete it!

Tight Stuff Tight

Lululemon

The beloved tight stuff tight has everything you're looking for in a running pant; compression stabilizes your muscles for even the longest of runs while pockets hold all your essentials in place with no wiggling around as you run. Bottom edges are laser cut into a scallop pattern and decorated with an array of reflective dots to keep you on the radar when the light is low. The Tight Stuff tight is made from one of my favorite Lululemon fabrics - luxtreme.

Luxtreme is one of the low-friction fabrics that Lululemon has engineered, so these pants won't pill up between the thighs as you use them for high-intensity workouts. However, the material is not so low-friction that your foot will be constantly slipping out of tree pose if you choose to wear them to yoga as well.

This fabric is so versatile and perfect for all of my fellow cross-trainers out there! High-tech, stylish, and designed with all of your storage needs in mind, these pants won't let you down. Pair these olive pants with a matching, black, white or grey sports bra for a high-intensity workout!

Chicago T-shirt Dress

Knot Sisters

Rugged and chic, you're sure to turn heads rocking this dress. The Chicago dress is perfect for girls on the go who would never sacrifice style no matter the rush! Distressed edges paired with this military hue are perfectly on trend, mixing effeminate style with a tomboy attitude. Pair this comfy cozy dress with a neutral bootie or cheetah print mule for a complete look!

Extra Mile Long Sleeve

lululemon

The SOFTEST pullover you'll ever own comes in a marled olive and black pattern for fall. Ruffled detailing on the sleeves along with reflective accents will make this fleecy pullover your go-to for those early morning/ late night runs as we head into fall. The Extra Mile Long Sleeve is another great example of fall inspired athletic wear that is high-tech yet chic.

Rulu fabric is engineered to provide that buttery-soft feel that you crave while also giving you the 4-way stretch and sweat-wicking capabilities that you need. This pullover has a zipping pocket for your valuables and also has thumbholes and Lululemon's signature cuffins to keep your fingers warm no matter the workout!

Feel free to layer this body-skimming silhouette long sleeve with a neutral tank underneath and a high-tech tight for your most fashionable (and comfortable) morning run of the fall season!

Cotton Military Jacket

BP (Last Year) - This year go to Abercrombie or Splendid at Nordstrom

A cotton utility jacket, a striped white tee, and distressed jeans are one of my GO-TO Fall outfits. Casual, yet fashionable enough for a dinner date, this look will never fail you. Last year I got a similar style by BP at Nordstroms and I absolutely love it.

Opt for one with a cinchable waist so that you can add that feminine flair to the boxy style and make it chicly and uniquely yours! Abercrombie and Nordstrom a few similar styles, so I would highly encourage checking those sites to find a jacket that's right for your style. If you try nothing else from this article, please, at least go to a store and try one of these babies out. It is a staple in my fall wardrobe and if you give it a shot, you'll quickly find out why!

Speed Up Tight

Lululemon

My go-to Lululemon pant is the speed up crop/tight. Plain and simple, these tights are made out of my favorite Lulu fabric, luxtreme, and feature reflective details along the side with pockets that are the perfect size for your phone.

When I wear either my olive or burgundy pair to work, I have so many people that ask about them and I consistently sell multiple pairs in one shift. So to all of my Lulu-lovin' ladies- toss your Wunder Unders aside and pick up a pair (or five) of either the speed tight or crop. They are the best!

Pocket Tee

BP

I wanted to include just a plain olive tee in this article to show that you do not have to get fancy to follow this trend. Pair a simple short or long sleeve tee in olive with your favorite short or pant and a pair of neutral booties and you're good to go! If you're still looking to style it a bit more to make it your own, consider tying it in the front or tucking it halfway in at the front to show off a cute belt. Another great option to elevate this look would be to add a neutral or print scarf!

Miles Ahead Tight

Lululemon

This is a new tight from Lululemon and I was so happy that it came in olive! I tried these on the other day and they fit and feel great. Another luxtreme pant, but with mesh detailing that is sure to elevate your style during your fall workouts. With pockets in the waistband and on the thighs, you can always have your must-haves close by with no bouncing or sliding while you move. This tight was wayyy too long on me, but remember that your Lululemon store offers free 4-day hemming at any time so don't hesitate to pick up a pair at your local store or order online!

Paper Bag Mini Skirt

June and Hudson

How cute is this skirt?? Pockets, olive green, and ruffles all tied with a bow- these are a few of my favorite things! This skirt is perfect to wear while it's still hot outside by pairing it with a white cami, but you can take it all through the winter by pairing it with a long sleeve top and a neutral colored over-the-knee boot!

Rise and Shine Jacket III

lululemon

I am such a fan of the new Rise and Shine rain jacket! The cinchable hood is designed to stay put, despite the wind that often comes with rainstorms, and the pockets keep you tech-items secure and protected from the elements. The hemline also offers a cinching capability so that you can style it multiple ways.

And don't worry, this jacket won't trap all your sweat inside; the fabric is waterproof yet breathable and ventilated so that you can shake off your workout as well as the rain! The olive color is perfect to throw over your gym pants because it won't clash with black leggings like the navy or black versions will.

Happy shopping!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
