Recently, I decided to indulge in my inner teenage vampire romance queen by purchasing some clothing that I've had my eye on for a while. Pre-warning... these clothes are statement pieces and should not be worn by the faint of heart or those who care about society's standards. Killstar is a clothing brand that sells luxury occult clothing ranging from intimates all the way to coats and more. What caught my attention from them is one of my favorite female singers wearing a skeleton dress that came from their site. I decided to peruse the internet and find it. To much dismay, I discovered that their prices were quite high so I would have to save up to make a purchase; this was all worthwhile in the end.
Skeletor Maxi Dress
I was disappointed when I first received the dress as I had interpreted the word 'fitted' in the description as more of a bodycon style and was confused by the fact that it was actually pretty loose around my torso. After contacting customer service (side note: they respond extremely fast) I was told that it's not meant to be bodycon. After accepting that notion, I fell in love with the dress. I love the design and the statement it makes when you wear it in public. The material feels like butter against your skin and it's super comfortable and not tight at all. I'm sad to say that the design has already started to wear in the washing machine as it came out sticking to itself. Despite this, I would definitely purchase the dress again on the stipulation that it would have to be hand washed.
Conjuring Hood Dress
I feel like I'm about to go into the deep woods and participate in a ritual when wearing this dress with the hood up. I actually purchased this dress with the idea that I would use it in a music video in the following weeks. What I love about it is how soft it is, how it looks on me and that I can shut out the world (and not see anything) by pulling the hood up all the way. The things that are bad about this dress are the fact that the long, dangling sleeves will get stuck in car doors, backpack straps, tables and just about anything if you're not careful. This is definitely a dress you have to be careful in when wearing for fear of being yanked back and tearing the fabric. Another grievance is that you will step, sit and get tangled in the ends of the dress as you're walking. The comfort of the dress and style outweigh the minor annoyances.
Story Time Scarf
I haven't had the chance yet to wear this scarf because it's currently warm outside and I would dissolve into a puddle if I did. However, I bought it because it was on sale, the words moved me to tears and melted my gothic heart of stone. Just kidding, I won't eat your soul... yet. Back to the topic at hand, the scarf is a perfect mixture or soft and warm to wear on those chilly days when you want the world to go away.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Killstar clothing to any friend looking to tap into their dark side who doesn't mind spending a few extra dollars to do so.
Best Shopping Wishes,
Melinda
