I, like so many other people in the country, am a Green Bay Packers football fan.
There have been many new players on the team. And lots of players come and go from teams, but on the Packers, there have been a couple of constants for what seems like every season.
One of those constants is Jordy Nelson. The Pro Bowl wide receiver has been with the Packers for all nine seasons of his career in the NFL.
On March 13, his tenure with the Packers finally ended, and he will be with a different team next season.
Some of the best memories I have as a Packers fan was when Jordy Nelson was on the field.
The pregame warm-ups, for example, when Jordy and Aaron Rodgers would see who could have the ball spin on the tip the longest and then go into the classic fist bump.
Also, one memory I won't forget is on Dec. 18, 2016, when the Packers were playing the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, and the Packers needed to win to stay in the playoff hunt.
It was third-and-11 with 34 seconds on the clock, and the game was all tied. Aaron Rodgers dropped back and threw a 60-yard bomb to the man himself, Jordy Nelson. That throw and catch set up the game-winning field goal to win the game and keep the Packers in the playoff chase — which eventually, they made it into.
On behalf of all Packer fans everywhere, I would just like to thank Jordy Nelson for all the great memories he has given us.
Jordy, it has been a joy watching you play every Sunday.
Packer nation was lucky to have you for the first nine seasons of your career. We have enjoyed watching you grow as a player and you have always represented Packer nation proudly.
We hope you continue to do well and wish you the best of luck on the rest of your NFL journey (except when you play the Packers of course.)
