Farewell And Goodbye
You whisper sweet nothings into my ear,
Making me believe your empty promises.
Appearing like a lost puzzle piece to my life.
Like you were all I was missing.
Through the past, I knew something could have been,
And we made plans to start, to begin.
But looks are deceiving, it’s true.
You’re not the person I thought I knew.
Your candy-coated words turned to venom spitting through teeth.
Suddenly, I realized you belonged to a different art piece.
Eyes that once gleamed, glowed
Turned sour and dull.
My world was once summer,
Sunny, sizzling and bright.
Now it is a winter wonderland,
Icy, isolated and dark.
I won’t accept words
But I’ll trust actions,
For if you mean what you say,
You’ll prove it in any way.
So I’ll say farewell and goodbye,
Because you don’t deserve the tears I cry.
