We all love Halloween and the chance to dress up for a day as anything our little heart desires. Costume hunting is the zenith of the Halloween season other than the actual day in my opinion. But with all the options it’s slightly difficult to pick the best costume. Here are some unique costume ideas to hopefully help your decision out a bit.

Group Costumes

Addams Family in the 20’s

I’m sure we have all watched or at least heard of the Addams family. It might have been a staple of our childhood for some of us. Now, of course, there is no shortage of the Addams family costumes on Halloween, but what makes this costume group different is the choice of the era. Imagine the Addams family living in the roaring twenties. Wednesday as a flapper, and Pugsley as a mobster. Definitely, a way to make the family unique.

Disney Zombies

This set of costumes is a good choice for those of us that are morbidly inclined but still love some Disney. Get a group of friends and gussy up as prince and princesses. Then comes the fun part: zombify. It's a fun way to cause nostalgia in your friends and then gross them out a bit at the same time. Perfect for a unique Halloween.

Female Costumes

Rosie the Riveter

A simple costume that probably every girl has in her closet that’s not so common is Rosie the Riveter. This is a unique costume for those of us ladies that are award winners in procrastination. All this costume requires is a navy button up, jeans, boots, and a bandana. This costume may be simple but it is also unique in the fact that she was based on real women who worked while their husbands were at war to support their families.

Scare Crow

All this costume needs is a wicker weaved hat, some neutral colored clothes, and makeup. Draw a couple geometrical stitches on your face, a triangular orange nose, and go look for your brain. Sorry for the "Wizard of Oz" joke but it felt necessary. Also, don’t forget the two large dots of blush on your cheeks. A simple costume that is definitely unique.

Male Costumes

Napoleon Dynamite

Again, this costume is a simple one for the men reading this that are master procrastinators. All you need are some geeky glasses, khakis, and a white tee that says vote for Pedro. If you want to jazz it up more throw on some black boots, too. This is a simple costume that you don’t necessarily see a lot of.

Where’s Waldo

What’s better than a fun game we all played at least once when we were a child? This is a simple but amusing costume. All you need is a red and white striped beanie and shirt with some jeans. Maybe add some glasses if you want to add some more pizazz. It's a fun costume that can make everyone say they have officially found Waldo.

Hopefully, this list has helped your decision-making process easier. I hope you have a fun and safe Halloween. Happy Trick or Treating.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
