15 years from the start

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them

The highly anticipated new installment of the Harry Potter world did not disappoint. I left the theater with a giddy smile on my face and a tear in my eye. It has been fifteen years since Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone came out in theaters and this extension of the Wizarding World was definitely worth the wait. The movie starts off with a title sequence similar to that of the Harry Potter movies. Then it goes into a series of moving newspapers that try to explain what is happening when the film begins. I thought there could've been a better way to get that information that was more visually pleasing and inventive. Another instance of lack of creativity was the entrance into the Wizarding World. I understand that this movie is set in America and there are differences to that of the places in the UK but I thought the scenery was dull compared to that of the Harry Potter movies. Speaking of dull, the wardrobe was rather bleak in color as well. However the tones of grey matched that of the later Harry Potter films and were a nice connection between the two. Don't get me wrong I absolutely loved the film. I thought the creativity of the script and casting was highly enjoyable and the animation behind the creatures was flawless. I would have liked to see less animated characters and more prosthetic and makeup work like that of the originals. All in all, the film was phenomenal and I definitely recommend you go see it in theaters.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
