What Comes After 'Avengers: Infinity War?'

Is Avengers: Infinity War the 'Empire Strikes Back' of the MCU?

Avengers: Infinity War is making a killing at the box office! Chances are you've already seen the movie so I want to discuss the lead-up to Avengers 4, rather than writing a formal review of this film. That being said, we're getting into spoiler territory so continue reading at your own risk.

Thanos acquires all six Infinity Stones and wipes half of the universe from existence. The heroes I thought would die still survived and the heroes I expected to live were the ones to perish; I wasn't expecting Black Panther or Spider-man to go out the way they did. The movie ends with Thanos smirking as he watches the sunset then the credits roll.

Reading the names on screen was almost like reading an obituary. Unlike past Marvel movies, which typically have a happy ending, no one applauded and no one spoke for a few moments after viewing Infinity War, still trying to process what just happened.

So where do we go from here? We know that a Spider-man: Homecoming sequel is already in the works and Black Panther made a ton of cash so it's a safe bet that these two will definitely return.

Oh, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will come to theaters in 2020 so it's guaranteed Star-Lord and his posse will return (minus Gamora?). The question still remains: How can the surviving heroes, the original Avengers, undo the damage caused by Thanos?

Although we don't know much about Avengers 4, we can still theorize. First and most importantly, Nick Fury is included in a post-credits scene, where he sends a distress signal to Captain Marvel. She'll play a huge role in the next movie for sure, but I don't know much about the character.

I know that she's in the air force and she's incredibly powerful. Her solo movie debuts next year, just before Avengers 4, but it is set during the 1990's. I'm curious to see how she becomes a super-heroine, the extent of her abilities and to find out what's kept her occupied for so long. Why didn't Nick Fury call for her help during the first Avengers movie, for instance? Only time will tell.

Then we have Ant-Man and the Wasp to look forward to this summer! The events of this movie take place just before Infinity War. Perhaps the Quantum Realm could factor in to saving our heroes?

Speaking of which, what exactly happened to them? I don't think they simply vanished, given the source material. In the comics, the soul stone allows the user to steal, alter, and control the souls of all living or deceased beings. On top of that, it acts as a gateway to a pocket universe. Because the soul stone's abilities weren't explicitly stated in the movie, I'm theorizing that they're either trapped within the soul stone itself or they were sent to a parallel dimension.

Recently the directors came out and said that undoing Infinity War's ending would come at a high cost. Because of their statement, I'm confident Steve Rogers will die and Bucky will take his place as Captain America. Chris Evans' contract has run out and Sebastian Stan still has a few more movies to star in before his contract expires. Hawkeye and Black Widow could both die, since they're arguably the least useful Avengers, but I think they're doing something more with Jeremy Renner's character before letting him go.

There have been sooo many fan theories going around since the movie released. You've probably heard of them or may have a few theories of your own! We can make as many predictions as we want, but you never truly know when it comes to Marvel/Disney. We have a few clues that could tell us something about Avengers 4's plot, but we won't know for sure until May 2019!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
