It's move-in week! It's been a long summer, to say the least, and I'm weirdly excited to get back to my academic grind at Florida A&M University.

A couple months ago, some current students at FAMU offered some helpful tips to incoming freshman via Twitter with the hashtag #FAMU20Advice. Seeing as the school year starts next Monday, I thought it to be the perfect time to compile a list of some of the best tweeted tips for surviving your first year on The Hill. Even if you don't attend FAMU, I'm sure there's a tip for you somewhere. Check out the list below:

1. Because his music gets played at every FAMU event

2. Because mental health is a serious issue...

3. Some people are only in your life for a season

4. Because the turn up isn't worth failing your classes

5. Your physical safety is important!

6. For when Financial Aid says you didn't turn something in, but in actuality you turned it in three months ago

7. Please excuse my incorrect spelling, but the point still remains true

8. Because everyone who wants to be your mentor may not be qualified...

9. Get involved!

10. Eating real meals on the weekends can be a struggle

11. Everybody-and I mean everybody- should know the FAMU greeting

12. A comfortable ride home goes a long way

13. Always be prepared for an afternoon shower

14. It's all fun and games until...

15. We all need a little God in our lives

16. And finally...

What advice do you have for the upcoming freshmen class? Let me know in the comments below!

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right? I mean I went through four years of tough classes and serious self-searching (and crying). What I found overall was Senioritis sneaking up on me.

It takes a little while to get used to not seeing your high school best friends every day. Going away to college causes a lot of changes, but one thing that will never change is my love for my high school BFFs, and the texts that I get from them. College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
