The Fourth of July is a fun holiday to get all of your friends and family together and celebrate our country with a barbecue. When the fun is over, however, most people do not know what to do with all of their leftovers. Here are some ideas on what you can do with these nine common barbecue foods.

1. Steak

Leftover steak is great in the morning for a breakfast of steak and eggs. You can also use the steak to make steak tacos, or even steak fajitas.

2. Burgers

Burgers are great if you want to crumble them up and use them in a sloppy joe sandwich.

3. Chicken

With leftover chicken, you can make chicken salad -which is really good with sliced red grapes- use it for chicken and waffles, chicken quesadillas or fajitas and even just to slice to top off a salad.

4. Deviled eggs

You can use deviled eggs to make egg salad or throw them on top of a homemade chef salad.

5. Macaroni salad

Do you love coleslaw? Do you love macaroni salad? Here is a little twist that can be taken on these two classic foods. Add some freshly shredded cabbage with some shredded carrots to your macaroni salad, and some more mayonnaise to your liking, and voila! Macaroni salad coleslaw.

6. Baked potato

You can take the insides of the potato and mash them up to make fried potato pancakes, or bake them again and make loaded baked potato sliders.

7. Corn

Ever hear of corn fritters? If you have you know they can be real good, so why not turn some of that corn on the cob into some fresh corn fritters?

8. Potato salad

This is going to be the one to get some weird looks, but of you recook your potato salad you get nice, crispy, flavorful potatoes. Preheat your oven to 425º, if you have excess mayonnaise put your potato salad in a strainer and rinse some, but not all, of the mayonnaise off. Bake in the oven for about a half hour, but make sure you turn your potatoes.

9. Buns

Leftover buns and rolls can be used to make bread pudding, or even to make croutons for your favorite salad!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
