I'm excited to share some of the photographers that I admire. This was originally a class assignment was not a challenge for me as I find a lot of photographers inspiring.

The interesting thing with this assignment is that I realized that I follow soooo many people and I really don't know any of them or even their names but I just follow them because they leave me feeling inspired. (Lots more linked at the bottom & there could be many more. Although at the bottom they aren't all fashion photographers).

Lina Tesch

Inspiring qualities:

image 1: Like the art that is drawn in the models face and seeing all the blues in color but also emotion.

Image 2: This photo is beautiful art. Love how you can see the form and outline of this lady's body but it doesn't show too much. She looks to be confident and real.

image 3: Love this photo. The model is looking into a mirror. I believe to get this shot and I like the dimensions that this brings. It looks as though she is entering a much cooler reality then the one we see everyday. Also a big fan of the color pink.

image 4: Love the texture in the wavy hair paired with this ultra chunky knit sweater. The colors and tones in this picture and with the models skin tone look really complimentary to me

David Roemer

Inspiring qualities:

image 1: Like that this image is shot through a car window and that it isn't all the way rolled down so you see some intentional blur or haze. I also love all the soft yellow / orange hazy light. Makes me want to go on a road trip.

Image 2: Find this pose to be really interesting. The model was probably like what the heck thinking about were the photographer was probably located to take the picture. I also like the light background with this neutral monochromatic outfit.

image 3: Love the bright lip, really makes the photo interesting and draws your eyes to look at the image longer also like the text overlay for more detail/ contrast.

image 4: Love the strange objects he's holding, reminds me of high fashion.

Olivia Malone

Inspiring qualities:

image 1: Love that you can make a dirty ugly lawn chair look cool in this shot. This photo would be really cool in film too. I also like that the models legs are spread wide so you can see the lines in the skirt and how they are the opposite direction of the chair lines. Simple but pretty.

Image 2: This shot is made by the dress that's elongated and brought up into the corner of the frame. I also like the color hues in the image and think that they compliment each other well.

image 3: The harsh lighting and shadows in this photo are fun. This girl looks like she is on a deserted playground on a summer day. I also like that she is wearing an outfit that you would not play in and it looks very oversized and not functional. All the lines in this shot are interesting.

image 4: I like that this shot has one models head cut off. I think it adds interest to the photo.

Overall I would say that I am a fan of all these fashion photographers first because I am interested in the content that they are shooting. I admire the colors, the details and textures you can see in these styled outfits. I also like these photos I specifically selected because I think that the models are placed in interesting poses/ shapes.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
