Family: A Constant In Life You Should Never Forget

Sometimes we tend to forget how much family means to us.

Family: A Constant In Life You Should Never Forget
Self

Out of all the memories, all of the people you will meet, all of the sights you will see, all of the hands or hearts that you have touched, or they have touched you, the one constant in your life is your family. A strong family makes a strong person. You have that support to fall back on when life just plain gets hard. They are always there to catch your fall. Always there to hear your cries. Always, always, always there for you. A strong family cares so much into the bounds of infinity for you and other family members, that they would put their life forth for yours. They will never leave you lonely. I am so graciously blessed, myself, with such a loving family. They will always stay by my side through thick and thin, throughout my entire life.

I believe family and God are the most important things to focus on in a persons lifetime. No matter where you are in life, soaring high or flying low, a broken heart or a newly found love, they are behind you. They are there. No matter how mad you get at them, or they get at you, they care. They tell you when you're in the wrong, and they praise you when you are in the right. They follow you up on your path with God and they bring you higher when you feel you've lost your faith. They make you laugh. They make you cry. However, at the end of the day...that's family. You can't help but love every single bit of them and always thank your lucky stars when you can for them.

From making your first steps, to driving your first car, to getting your diploma, to walking you down the aisle or attending your wedding to love and support your relationship, to being there when you have your first fight or first child. Family stays constant. You make your own family, eventually, and you stay with them throughout their lives. You love them more than infinity reaches and beyond. That is the one constance of absolute true and tangible love.

Some families have been broken. Through divorce. Bad times. Or just bad situations. But those families, they too prevail with undying love for eachother. They protect each other. They pick up their members when they are down, dust them off and tell them to fight the game called life even harder and bring a smile to their faces. That is a strong family.

So when you go home tonight, or some time today, and you find yourself around a family member, hold them tight. Tell them how much you love and appreciate everything they do for you, and their love they hold for you. Cuddle up next to your mother and love her to pieces. Hug your father and tell him how wonderful he is to you. Call your crazy Aunt and tell her how much you crazy love her. Call your thoughtful Uncle and tell him how much you appreciate his amazing advice throughout the years. Call your grandmother, or grandmothers, and tell her how much you value how passionately she cares about you and how she tells you to reach for the sky every chance you can get. Call your grandfather and tell him how much you miss his crazy joke and learn from his witty personality. Tell your brother, or sister, how much you've enjoyed their company growing up and the fun and sentimental times you've shared. Because yes, family is a constant. However, they do not always realize their worth and how much they matter. They matter the most. In this crazy world we live in today, we come home to love them just as unconditionally as they love us. They love us the same as God loves us and that, we should be thankful for.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
