Hallmark Channel

Ah, the Hallmark Channel Countdown to Christmas.

You've probably heard of it, even if you've never seen it. It's a wonderful gift that we don't deserve where the Hallmark Channel plays original movies 24 hours a day until Christmas. It's an emotional experience to get invested in the Hallmark Channel and once you get sucked in, you'll never go back.

1. You turn on the Hallmark Channel to see what the hype is about

It's an explosion of Christmas. Why are there so many sweaters? Why does the whole town take Christmas so seriously?

2. You suddenly have watched three movies without realizing it

How did time fly by so quickly? They never stopped showing movies and I never left my couch.

3. You've seen so many movies in one sitting, you realize they're all kind of the same thing and grow resentful

What is all the fuss about? I've seen one. I've seen them all.

4. Ba Humbug! You HATE the Hallmark Channel!

There's no reason to like this channel! It's idiotic! The movies have the same actors even. This is a crime against humanity. We deserve better programming.

5. You had a bad day and like a gift from the heavens, Hallmark channel is still playing Christmas movies even at this late hour. So you decide to watch another

They're just there. They're playing all the time. They never stop. It's like... they're waiting for me to watch them.

6. You realize Hallmark channel is happiness, joy and the most wholesome thing you need in your life

Nothing can bring you down, you have the Hallmark channel.

7. You have to tell everyone about how much you love the Hallmark channel

Everyone needs this Christmas joy in their life! How have I lived without this masterpiece? Have you seen this movie? I loved that one with the girl and the guy and the house! Yes and the one with the prince! Or the one with the doctor!

8. You defend the Hallmark channel to ALL nay-sayers!

"THE HALLMARK CHANNEL IS MAGICAL CHRISTMAS GOODNESS! I DON'T CARE THAT THEY'RE ALL THE SAME! I LIKE THAT I KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE LIFE DOESN'T HAVE HAPPY ENDINGS BUT THE HALLMARK CHANNEL DOES! THE HALLMARK CHANNEL ALWAYS HAS HAPPY ENDINGS!"

9. You believe in love again and dream of moving to a small Christmas town with the best Christmas cookies ever

Nothing can get better than this!

10. And then... Christmas is over. And the movies are gone. But the Christmas magic is still in your heart.

You look at the Hallmark channel sometimes and remember a time when the movies were there for you to watch whenever you wanted. You smile because you love them. You smile because you're sad. You smile because that's what Hallmark Christmas movies would want you to do even though they are gone.

11. Then the holidays come around again and you get to rewatch your favorite Christmas movies! Even some new ones! And everything is right with the world.

Yay! Chrsitmas time is here again!

12. Most importantly, the Hallmark channel stays in your heart forever for Christmas seasons to come

Because you know, you're home when you're watching the Hallmark channel.

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
