From a very young age we are taught in a broad sense what love should look like. In every movie we see relationships that we start to form our own ideals around. The Notebook, Titanic, and any Nicholas Sparks movie to date are perfect examples of the expectations we create when it comes to falling in love. From a young age we already hold high standards of what the perfect relationship should entail. What we aren’t taught and what we aren’t prepared for is the way that falling in love changes who you are, and it changes what you expected.

Falling in love is the scariest, most incredible feeling in the whole world. Whether it observably hits you, or takes time to develop, knowing you are in love, and getting to share that feeling with your best friend is so special. From endless conversations and laughter to the butterflies and "I love you"s, realizing you have your person is a feeling you should be taken back by each day.

Here are some signs you have found the one…

1) No matter how many times you see this person, you still get the same butterflies you got the first time you saw them.

2)Everything reminds you of him or her, so you are constantly tagging each other in several memes a day.

3)Staying mad is simply impossible, no matter how much you irritate one another

...10 minutes later

4)You know exactly what the other person orders at restaurants cause food is definitely a necessity in the relationship

5)You love the imperfections and the weirdness, there is nothing that is off limits between you two

6)On your worst days they are the one who is willing to do anything to see you smile

7)You know them better than they know themselves, there is nothing they can keep from you

8)They are your best friend, your confidant, together there is nothing you can’t work at

9)Showing each other off is the most rewarding feeling

10) They make you a better you, by forcing you to challenge who are you and to work at your best

Most importantly, you will never get tired of falling in love with this person. They are your better half and the person who made the wait worth it. So yes the movies we have all seen teach us what love looks like, but go out and find the person who will never fail to make you feel it. Go find true love, that love at first sight. Don't forget that love conquers all and that in the hardest of times you have someone by your side to fight your battles with you. There will be arguments, and hard days, days that things will feel too difficult to handle alone. But finding the person who is willing to fight beside you, and knowing that person loves you back, makes life just a little easier.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
