Falling In Love With Fall Fashion

Grab your pumpkin spice lattes and soft sweaters, because it’s time for fall! Get ready to curl up watching your classic, bloody, horror movies and enjoying your favorite candy on the couch as you prepare for one of the most iconic seasons. The quixotic season of autumn blesses us with many beauties to appreciate, like the aesthetic scenery for our artsy Instagram photos! One essential part of fall that’s really enticing is the fashion.

Fashion findings are easy to spot. Everyone is showing off their new apparel to brace the coming chill these next months, and they're doing it in style. For starters, the shoes are a must to walking on the rainy or icy glazed walkways, especially all over campus for us college students. A popular shoe in style for fall this season are black boots, specifically, booties. Black boots are a woman’s staple in her closet. They are great because black is a universal neutral. When you dare come across a universal neutral, marry it! They are colors that can be paired with anything and can be worn throughout multiple seasons. The black boots are accepted in fall and winter, which extends the use on those bad boys! Booties, however, are a favorite to fall! They are perfect when it's that crisp morning, but then warms up for the rest of the day. This is perfect for keeping your toes comfortable in the morning, but avoids imprisoning your lower calves come late afternoon.

Pleasantly paired with these are ripped jeans. Yes, ripped jeans are versatile and can be worn for many seasons. However, they don’t look better than folded over above a cute pair of booties. The shades vary in ripped jeans, but for fall, there is a certain standard intensity. Dark denim ripped, smokey for fall, grey, jet black, hunter green, and maroon jeans are the best washes to choose from. Suede skirts seem to do the trick. These suede skirts are comfy and soft for the brisk season. The darker, mustier colors are perfect for fall and bring out the tones in the air and on the leaves of the trees. Likewise, skirts are also appealing with booties. Specifically, weather and in colors like black or caramel, they add to the autumn list of spotted trends.

Now for the fun part--sweaters! Sweaters are the most important garment a girl can have as part of her wardrobe for this time of year. Cardigans, crew-necks, off the shoulder, cold shoulder tops are just some of the many different styles of sweaters to accessorize your outfit. For the causal look, over-sized sweaters paired with ripped jeans and booties is the way to go. To dress up this outfit, simply adding a statement necklace and some beaded bracelets help enhance the sparkle and formality of it or switching out the ripped jeans for the suede skirt. Either way, you're sure to rock the fall season in style.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.
