Fall/Winter Must-Have Pieces

Fall has been upon us for some time now, however, it has just started to finally make it below 70 degrees in Texas. Now that it seems like the warmer weather is behind us, it's time to jump right into fall fashion. These are some of my top picks for this upcoming fall/winter season.

1. Blanket Scarves

One of my all time favorite fall pieces. I got one last year and absolutely adore it. I got mine from Target for $20 but smaller boutiques also sell some really cute ones! They come in all different colors and varieties but they all have one thing in common, they can make a boring outfit seem so chic in an instant.

2. Slip On Shoes

They go with absolutely anything- jeans, leggings, you name it. The black color is my favorite and is classic. They are also super comfortable and durable. Steve Madden has really cute ones but I know other places sell them as well.

3. Over the Knee Boots

I was a little unsure of this trend at first, but I think paired accordingly and in the right situation these can look really cute. I really like the grey suede ones.

4. Drape Vests

Having already been a huge fan of vests myself, I was so excited to see the trend continuing onto this year as well. Ones that really stand out to me this year are where they are suede on one side and a fuzzy side on the other.

5. Ripped Black Jeans

Paired with a slouchy sweater or dressed up with a nice top and booties, these jeans can take you from day to night easily.

6. Longer Chokers

The choker trend is in full swing now and I must say it is something I am thoroughly enjoying. Brings back the mems of wearing those colorful rubber band chokers we all made in middle school. A new one I am loving right now is the longer looking chokers. Some people even say it is super easy to make your own instead of buying one.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
