As midterms roll around the corner, the leaves begin to turn that beautiful bright orange. Ever just sit in your lecture classroom and stare out the window when you should be paying attention? Yeah, we've all been there. Sometimes it feels good not to have any responsibilities and just go out and enjoy life. Well here's some fun things to do on a BUDGET this semester to help de-stress from midterms and research papers.

Get out and smell the apple cider & pumpkin muffins.

1. Go Pumpkin Picking !

Yes, all the hype is around pumpkin picking! It's something to get you out of your dorm and off campus! Go to a local farm and take the hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick your very own special pumpkin. Bring some friends with you to make it more fun, you can even make it a competition on who's going to find the biggest pumpkin! Take some pictures and post them to your Instagram or Twitter. At the end of your pumpkin picking festivities, grab some cider and doughnuts (they're usually free). Pumpkin picking is usually $3-$6 (definitely in your college budget)

2. Carve A Pumpkin

Now this is something any collegiate can afford. As long as you have a pumpkin and a sharp knife, your on the right path. Let your creative juices begin to flow! Grab some friends, or even just play some music and have some alone time! Carving a pumpkin can help you relax and make some fun fall decorations for your house or your dorm! It's easy as pumpkin pie (ba da dum). Check out some Pinterest posts on how you may want to carve your pumpkin and go from there, don't forget to add some of your own touches!

3. Apple Picking!

Now I know what you're thinking, Apple Picking and Pumpkin Picking? Before you start to question me listen to this! Apple picking is completely different. This involves physically climbing a tree and boosting your friends up over your shoulder to get that perfect Granny smith apple. Skipped the gym this week? This little adventure can be super fun, especially after you fall down a few times and laugh it off. This will really knock the thought of midterms out of you! Forget about everything for a day and just have some fun and eat an apple. Maybe bring one to your crabby professor to get on their good side (wink wink).

4. Bake Fall Cookies!

Come on, who doesn't love cookies? When it's a little chilly out, turn on your favorite tunes and bake some fall cookies then share them over a good Halloween movie like Hocus Pocus (a classic) or whichever one is your favorite! This is more than affordable, and filling for that case since campus food isn't much to brag about.

5. Halloween Movie Night!

Talking about movies...Don't feel like going outside? Or changing out of your pajamas? Well this is the perfect CHEAP fun thing to do this fall. Stay in and binge watch Halloween movies. It doesn't necessarily have to be during night time, make it a whole day occasion. Just hang out and put the books aside. ABC Family, now called Freeform , started it's infamous "13 Nights of Halloween."

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
