Being born and raised in the north the cold weather was natural to me around this time, so when I moved to the south I was confused as to why it wasn’t 65 degrees by now. Because it’s currently 91 degrees here in South Carolina the activities we do here are a little different than the north.

South:

1. Going to the beach

Being your typical college student a common activity you do on the weekend, almost even putting it in your weekly routine.

2. Buying pumpkins at the grocery store

Living in downtown Charleston you don’t often see pumpkin patches to go pumpkin picking, so naturally you have to buy them at the grocery store.

3. Tailgating for the college football teams

In the south one of the most popular things to do is to tailgate. If you go to USC, or Clemson that’s what you’re doing for the day. Going to a school without a football team, going to visit another school to watch a football game is a blast. 10/10

4. Sitting out by the pool

Of course, we can’t forget the one thing everyone loves to do the most, sitting out by the pool and getting a little extra color.

North:

1. Apple picking

In the north this is one of our favorites things to do when fall is approaching, getting all your friends together and spending a day in an apple orchard.

2. Pumpkin picking and carving

Going to a pumpkin patch is one thing but all of the extra activities that go along with it is what makes the day. After picking the pumpkins, going home to carve and roast the pumpkins seeds is probably one of the best things you can do in the fall. Especially when you don’t know how good or bad your carving is going to come out.

3. Hot apple cider and cider donuts

There’s one thing drinking apple cider cold, there’s another thing drinking it hot. Adding cider donuts to the mix and you have the perfect picture. Once you have one, you need to have a dozen.

4. New clothes

One of the best things about the fall is that you basically get to buy a whole new wardrobe. When the new fall trends come out it’s just an excuse to pull your credit card out and swipe away. New season, new clothes.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
