Every once in awhile, bands go through periods of high activity followed by weeks of being under a rock. Ever since Fall Out Boy came off hiatus in 2013, it has been go, go, go. Let's take a look at Fall Out Boy's activity since then:
To start off, when they announced they were getting back together, they came out with this record called "Save Rock and Roll." They then went on tour with Panic! At The Disco and Twenty One Pilots; but that was not the end of the Save Rock and Roll era.
They went on tour with these bands, Paramore, and the then newly signed New Politics. They called this tour Monumentour, and fans raved over the fact that the band was back together, the new record, and the touring schedule.
While on the road for Monumentour, Fall Out Boy were writing their next album, and at the start of the new year they delivered "American Beauty/American Psycho;" an album that had many singles play on the radio, including a mash-up with pop-star Demi Lovato.
After the album was released, Fall Out Boy announced yet another tour. The newly signed MAX, Hoodie Allen, and Wiz Kalifa made the hottest season even hotter by touring with Fall Out Boy in the Boyz of Zummer extravaganza.
Baby, seasons change, and with summer coming to an end, Fall Out Boy decided to cool off with announcing another run across the country on Wintour. As you have noticed, Fall Out Boy is very good at incorporating the word "tour" into the touring title name.
However, it is summer again, and Fall Out Boy has been relatively quiet. In the past year, they have released three songs not on Fall Out Boy records including "Back To Earth" with Steve Aoki, "I Wan'na Be Like You (The Monkey Song)" cover for the We Love Disney sountrack, and the new "Ghostbusters" theme song for the upcoming movie with Missy Elliot.
Even though we have been teased with new music, and pictures of member's offspring in the studio, Fall Out Boy is still taking a run on the road in different countries, with no sign of new music.
Last week we got word that drummer Andy Hurley has started a new metal-core band called Sect with his buddies, and are delivering an album by August 5th.
With Fall Out Boy always on the road and the many side projects and personal matters of the band members, do you think that Fall Out Boy will deliver new music any time soon? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below!
