If you are like me you definitely love summer, but fall offers so many more activities that really might give it the number one ranking for the different seasons. Fall provides the great opportunity to do so many fun things, and here is a list of what I think should be on your bucket list of top ten things to do this fall season!

Tailgate for a football game!

Madyson Thompson

Personally, I think football is the best sport to watch, and fall is the best time to take advantage of tailgating your high school, college, and favorite national football teams games.

Go to a pumpkin patch!

This is such a great date, that does not have to break your bank account, plus the pumpkin patch locations often offer other activities as well making for a great day full of fall fun.

Stay in and have a horror movie night.

Fall is home to a few great holidays, including halloween! Which makes it the perfect time to snuggle up under a blanket with some candy and popcorn to watch some scary, or not so scary movies!

Go to a haunted house or hayride.

Madyson Thompson

Personally, I am a huge baby when it comes to haunted houses, but I love haunted hayrides because they provide me with a feeling of safety and security while on the wagon. It is a tradition that we do at least one every fall near halloween.

Fall is also a great time to go hop on a wagon ride to go apple picking.

Another not so expensive date, that is hands on and fun. It can take a good amount of time, and you get to pick delicious apples that you can make into pies, candy apples, or caramel apples. Yum.

Have a bonfire!

Fall gives us the perfect weather to sit around a fire with our friends, maybe enjoy a few drinks, or tell some scary stories while of course roasting marshmallows and making smores!

The leaves falling off trees, and changing colors also makes for a perfect photo session.

Madyson Thompson

That's right we're all going to be dragging our friends and boyfriends to an open field to take a ton of "off-guard" pictures of us with the leaves in the background, or even just with that perfectly colored grass. The colors of the sky also make for perfect photos of your surroundings.

Perfect weather for baking!

Fall again gives you that perfect weather, not too hot and not too cold, so you can bake whatever your heart desires, especially pumpkin based items like pie or bread!

Costume parties are still fun at all ages, So throw one!

Madyson Thompson

Halloween is at the end of October, but who cares if you are celebrating early or late! Having a costume party will have all of your friends thanking you for quite some time.

Lastly, treat yourself and stay in doing whatever you want!

Dominic Carey

This weather and the content on tv make for the perfect excuse to cuddle up on your couch with a cup of hot chocolate doing nothing at all! You can spend the night in fuzzy socks cooking up a nice meal, watching shows, movies, or painting (yes go and paint a pumpkin!) and you will have no regrets at all!

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

Economic Benefits of Higher Wages

Nobody deserves to be living in poverty.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
