6 Fabulously Fall Things To Do In Greenville, South Carolina

There’s something so endearing about fall -- it’s invigorating cool weather, the colorful leaves, the crisp fresh air. There’s truly nothing better. Growing up in Florida, I felt like fall was nearly non-existent -- just a momentary transition between when the sweltering heat subsides and all of the leaves are shaken from their branches. Now that I live in South Carolina, I can fully appreciate all of the wonders that are fall and can understand why it is indisputably the greatest season. This is a list of seasonal activities that will help you make the best of your fall in Greenville, South Carolina.

1. Apple Picking at Sky Top Orchard

Pick you’re very own apples while taking in the panoramic mountain views. Hot “made while you watch” apple cider doughnuts are a must!

2. Nightmare Dungeon 3 Haunted House

Voted the scariest haunted house in South Carolina, this adventure is sure to frighten even the bravest of visitors. There are three attractions -- the Carnage Meat Locker, the Nightmare Dungeon and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre House, all guaranteed to bring your worst nightmares to life. You may even run into Leatherface.

3. Greenville Ghost Tours

If real fear is more your speed try the Greenville Ghost Tour. This creepy tour takes guests directly to the most haunted place sin downtown Greenville. The tour is led by local author, psychic and paranormal researcher Jason Profit.

4. Mini Miracles Farm

Pick a pumpkin from the patch, make your way through a corn maze, take a hay ride, and pet a llama. Mini Miracles Farm offers all of this and more, plus it’s a nonprofit that sources locals with organic produce.

5. Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway

There’s nothing more beautiful than the rich colors of changing leaves. The Blue Ridge Parkway offers breathtaking views along a winding mountain drive. Make a Spotify playlist, roll down the windows, and take it all in. What could be better?

6. TANDEM Crepes

Tandem crepes are delicious any time of the year, but they’re especially delicious when seasonal flavors like pumpkin pie hit the menu. One of their signature sweet crepes is topped with spiced pumpkin, crunchy grahams, cream, pecans, and vanilla-maple syrup. It’s killer, so go get one.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
