Being as it is finally Fall, I figured it would be a great idea to create a list of fun activities for your friends and family to do throughout the season. These activities can be done during any time of the season or at a Halloween party or as a fun countdown to Halloween!

1. Pin the Tail on the Cat

A cute spin off to the classic Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Pin the Tail on the Black Cat is perfect for all ages.

2. Halloween Bingo

Let's face it, playing regular Bingo can get a little boring. This Halloween themed Bingo will liven things up with cute images of monsters, treats, and symbols associated to Halloween.

3. Apple Bobbing

Of course you can't go wrong with bobbing for apples. A classic and fun activity, challenging for even the most experienced Halloween-ers.

4. Mystery Body Parts

A gross yet exciting activity to do in celebration of Halloween is the Mystery Body Parts Game. A person reaches inside a bucket and tries to guess what body part is inside the bucket. Of course, different types of food are used to represent these parts. But by all means you could use actual body parts if you're that dedicated. Just make sure you get permission first.

5. Quick Costume Challenge

An exciting Halloween-themed challenge for kids to do is the Quick Costume Challenge. How you play is by placing a large pile of costume pieces in the center of the floor. Each person has one minute to collect items of clothing and put together the most clever costume they can imagine.

6. Guess the Number

A common activity done is guessing how many pieces of one item is in a jar. A Halloween-spin on this activity could be to use candy corn or pumpkin seeds as the item in the jar. The person who guesses the closest number to the actual amount in the jar wins the jar.

7. Pumpkin Carving Challenge

Another Halloween challenge fun for older kids and adults is the Pumpkin Carving Challenge. Each person has their own pumpkin and carving utensils and has one minute to carve a pumpkin. The winner with the best-looking pumpkin gets a bag of goodies.

8. Pumpkin Smash

Of course, after the failure of the Pumpkin Carving Challenge, an exhilarating event everyone can join in on is the Great Pumpkin Smash. Placing all of the pumpkins outside in the yard of driveway, people can use bats, hammers or their hands and smash up the pumpkins.

I hope this list of ideas has got you all excited for Halloween! And if you're as crazy about Halloween as I am, you've probably already started planning these activities for the following month! Halloween can't come soon enough!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
