Less than a week ago, Thursday, September 22nd, 2016, was a momentous occasion.
It was the first day of fall.
Everyone knows that fall is really the best, and not only because I like pumpkin spice lattes. The best fall drink is in fact a chai tea latte, but that is a discussion for another article.
The truth of the matter is that fall deserves an article dedicated to appreciating the season that is always gone too soon.
Picture this: It is three o'clock on a sunny, breezy day. Even though it would normally be hot outside, today it is a balmy seventy two degrees. It is just chilly enough that sitting in the sun is netiher too hot or too cold. A small breeze blows by, caressing your face and stirring the fallen, crispy leaves around your feet. This weather is perfect for literally anything you want or need to do. As you take a sip of your warm *chai tea latte* everything is right in the world.
Also, clothes that have been hiding deep in your closet are going to see the light of day again. Fall is flannel season. Fall is sweater season. Fall is even the start of (dare I say it?) boot season. I do not know a single person who does not look more attractive in a flannel. May be that's just because I love them so much myself, but I doubt it.
Fall also invites in Halloween. Now, it's acceptable to watch horror movies, Hocus Pocus, and the Spooky Scary Skeletons video on repeat. Corn mazes, costumes, candy, oh my!
Summer and winter are nice, but true perfection lies in between. Don't let this beautiful season slip away, because it will sadly be gone all too soon.
