As August comes to a close, so does summer. September means back to school and time to get back into that fall mindset. The weather is getting a bit colder and the sun is setting a bit earlier, but not everything about summer ending is bad. If you’re anything like me, fall is your vice. Being my favorite season, I was never too sad to see fall emerge and summer fall behind. From great weather, to good clothes, to the holidays, fall is always a season to look forward to. Here a just a few of my personal fall favorites.

1. The Best Clothes

Nothing beats fall fashion, in my opinion. Not only is it the most comfortable season but fall clothing is easy to put together, while still looking like you spent time getting ready. Throwing on some leggings, boots, and an over-sized sweater is not only easy, but also a cute outfit that you’ll be comfortable in all day. Flannels, boots, beanies, sweaters; fall clothes are one of the best parts of the season.

2. School Starting

Some people may not find this to be a favorite of fall, but it is for me. I love moving back into to school, seeing all my friends, and getting back into the school mindset. Fall semester is something to look forward too, especially as summer starts to end.

3. Pumpkin Spiced Everything

As basic as it may be, it’s hard to deny how much you love the pumpkin spice trend. From coffee to candles, this trend is starting to define fall. Nothing makes Monday morning better than grabbing a pumpkin spice latte from Dunks on my way to class.

4. No More Humidity = Great Hair Days

For everyone who lives the frizzy hair lifestyle in the summer, you can agree with me that fall is your friend. Summer humidity is gone and now you can finally go outside without having to worry if your lion mane will emerge. Honestly, no humidity may be my favorite part of the fall. The weather is not too hot not too cold, basically the perfect temperature.

5. Football Season

One of my personal favorites of fall, football season. Tailgates are in full effect and weekly games are essential to the season. Nothing better than grabbing a beer and putting on your favorite team’s jersey for a day of football.

6. Pumpkin & Apple Picking

No matter how old I get, going pumpkin and apple picking will always be one of my favorite parts of fall. I will never get sick of going in corn mazes, or taking hay rides, or drinking apple cider on a hay bale among 5 year olds.

7. Fall Scenery

As cliché as it may be, there really is nothing more beautiful than the fall scenery. The leaves start to change color and everyday seems to be the perfect temperature.

8. The Holidays

With fall comes Halloween and Thanksgiving, two of my personal favorite holidays. Halloween, whether you are two or 20 is always exciting, probably for different reasons but alas exciting. ABC Family’s 13 nights of Halloween basically takes over my life and I have no shame about that. Thanksgiving is a great time to go home and see your family for a few days and take a break from school. And of course, fall means it’s getting closer and closer to Christmas, the actual best time of the year!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
