Fall is a time of falling leaves, the end of summer and going back to school for students across America. Now that summer is over, a lot of people have mixed feelings on fall with the amount of schoolwork and drops in temperature. However, I think that fall is the best season to be here at Fairfield. There are a lot of fun events on campus in the fall semester, not to mention the beautiful weather and scenery on campus. Here are a few reasons why fall is the best time to be at Fairfield.

1. The foliage

It is definitely not something you can experience throughout the rest of America. There is nothing like New England foliage in the fall and it is especially beautiful here in Stag Country.

2. The weather

Fall weather is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is beautiful none the less. It is not too hot and not too cold.

3. Fall clothing

For me, one of the best parts of fall is obviously sweater weather. Whether it's dressing for class at Fairfield or dressing up on the weekend, fall fashion always has a lot to offer.

4. Boot season

Who doesn't love wearing boots in the fall especially at Fairfield? It completes the perfect fall outfit.

5. Apple/pumpkin picking

Going apple picking or pumpkin picking is a must-do for everyone during the fall. There are a lot of great places to go in the Fairfield area as well.

6. Fall foods

The first thing that comes to mind for me is Apple Cider Donuts, but there are also many other yummy fall treats to indulge in all season long.

7. PSL

Calling all basic white girls — it is that time of year again. For those who aren't coffee fans, a PSL is a pumpkin spice latte; definitely a fall staple.

8. The events on campus

There are a lot of fun things to do on campus in the fall at Fairfield like Prez Ball and Red Sea Madness. We all have to take advantage before the cold weather strikes our campus.

9. Going into the city during the nice weather

There is nothing better than NYC in the fall. We are a quick train ride away from one of the best cities on Earth — what could be better?

10. Being able to go into town with no snow on the sidewalks

Downtown Fairfield is a popular hangout for all Stags. It is a great place to go and spend some time there during the nice weather.

11. Halloween

Halloween is absolutely one of the best parts of fall. Getting dressed up in different costumes is always so much fun and a great time to spend with friends.

What are your favorite parts of fall at Fairfield?

It's finally flu season! It's around that time in the school year where everyone on campus is getting sick, especially if they live in the dorms. It's hard to take care of yourself while being sick at school, but here are some coping mechanisms to get you on the path to feeling better!

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
