As the summer comes to an end, everyone is either looking forward to the fall, or hoping that the summer never ends. While summer is the best time of the year, nothing beats the excitement of sweaters and the leaves changing colors. There are so many fall activities that I never get around to doing. Here are 9 activities to put on your bucket list for the fall so that you don't forget to have fun while school starts:

1. Go apple picking

Apple picking is an experience that people of all ages are able to enjoy. Find a farm or an orchard nearby and plan a day trip. It might even turn into a yearly tradition with your family and friends!

2. Make apple pie

After you go apple picking during the day, you're going to have so many fresh apples to eat! Whether you have a secret recipe or you need to look one up on Google, making an apple pie is a whole new activity. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and watch a movie for the rest of the night.

3. Visit a pumpkin patch

Pumpkins are the best icon to represent the fall. Go to a pumpkin patch and pick out the biggest pumpkin you can find and then a bunch of cute, smaller ones. Use them as decorations for outside your house, or make a pumpkin pie!

4. Get crafty with pumpkins

Whether you're an artist or not, decorating pumpkins is easy! You can either get behind the knife and carve out faces and decorations, or you can decorate the surface! Carving a pumpkin will get you a picture-perfect jack-o-lantern. If you'd rather use paint and glitter, you'll get a really pretty pumpkin. Either way, decorate your pumpkin however you want and it will be a masterpiece.

5. Spend as much time outside as possible

Possibly one of the most important on this list, remembering to spend time outside is critical. In just a few short months, the temperature will be below freezing and there will be snow on the ground. Take plenty of walks in the park and enjoy the crisp, fresh, fall air.

6. Take Insta-worthy pictures of the beautiful scenery

While fall might be one of the most scenic seasons, you'll never remember the most beautiful moments unless you take a picture! While you are out on your walks, you'll probably come across many beautiful trees and leaves to take pictures of. The fall foliage will make the perfect photo for your Instagram.

7. Keep track of how many Pumpkin Spice Lattes you drink

Pumpkin Spice Lattes have become the epitome of fall drinks. Whether you're a Starbucks or Dunkin' person, you will probably drink a ridiculous number of these this season. Play a fun game with yourself and keep track of how many you get! Warning: you might be disappointed in yourself when you realize how much money you've spent on the drink.

8. Go to Fright Fest

If you live near a Six Flags, you're probably well aware of what happens to the park after dark during the fall season. Zombies and other scary creatures come out to join you on your rides, of course! Take advantage of being able to go to the park so late at night, but make sure you look over your shoulder every so often!

9. Visit a Haunted House

Haunted houses are either extremely scary or barely even creepy. Find a big group of friends and head to the scariest haunted house you can find. You might have to travel a little farther to find a good one, but trust me, the scare will be worth it.

These 9 activities should definitely be on your fall bucket list! The activities and options for fun things to do in the fall are endless, but these are just a few that really will make this season one to remember.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
