Fall Break As Told By Kevin Malone

By the time fall break rolls around, you're most likely more than ready for a break. Midterms were exhausting, dining hall food is unbearable and you really miss your dog.

There's nothing like being back in your old stomping grounds, but you may have forgotten the negatives that come alongside the positives of being home. Here is a review of the typical fall break, featuring both negatives and positives, depicted by The Office's Kevin Malone.

1. You got off the plane and your family wasn't ready to hug you at the gate.

2. But then you met them at the car and saw they brought your dog, and everything was okay again.

3. You got to sleep in an un-lofted, comfortable bed for the first time in months.

4. You ran into your parents' friends everywhere and they asked you the same questions about college.

5. "How are your classes?"

6. "Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend yet?"

7. Your parents cooked you so much good food you didn't think you would ever be able to go back to dining hall meals.

8. You visited all your favorite coffee shops and restaurants and it felt like you never left.

9. You got 10+ hours of sleep most nights, and it was incredible.

10. You ran into at least one old teacher, who reminded you they were the reason for your success, and you had to agree and thank them.

11. You had a hard time deciding whether to spend time with your parents or your pet because everyone else was still in school, but you didn't regret either decision.

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
